wait a minute... what if you get doodle earth or lux? you'll share territories? People will just start without territories?
- basically, what happens if you don't get a big map like Hive or 2.1?
- or can you only get a map with like more than 60 or whatever it is places? Because that narrows down the options a fair bit...

- basically, what happens if you don't get a big map like Hive or 2.1?

One of the previous BR's this happened... arms race i believe... and the only way to survive was to miss your turn and not begin.. The neutrals were killing everyone

well the arms race problem was that many of the territs were coded as neutrals or killer neutrals so when you started your turn, it would just revert to the default value. and on that BR, the map was chosen, so at least the admins or whoever sets up those games knew how many people to invite. for that BR that the volunteers are playing, the random map feature must have a setting that chooses a map with that many players as the minimum territs. otherwise, the players left over probably just get dropped i'd assume.

Break the site, which would send about 20 000 out into the streets rioting, even though these mini riots would probably only consist of 1 person because most of the site is spread throughout the world?

It says it's a random map, so that the most slots are available. When the game has filled, lack will manually change the map in the database.
