Fortifications:
Adjacent - A troop move from one country to another that borders it. You only get ONE, so use it wisely.
Chained - A troop move from one country to any country you control that is connected by other countries you control. You only get ONE, so use it wisely.
Unlimited - Unlimited amount of troop moves from countries you own to any other country that is connected by countries you own.
Game Types:
Terminator - You get points for taking someone off the board. You don't have to actually win the game to get points.
Assassin - Each player is assigned a target at the start of the game. Whoever eliminates their assigned target first wins the game. If someone eliminates a player that is NOT their target, the eliminated player's assassin wins the game.
Doubles - You and one teammate take on up to 2 other teams. Only one player from each team gets to make a move each round. You can fortify your teammate at the start or end of each move, but forting your teammate at the end of the round has limitations. You can only fort a country that is connected to your own and you cannot fortify THROUGH your teammate. Territorial bonuses can only be gained if you or teammate hold the ENTIRE territory. Territories held together get you no bonus. Attacking your own teammate is OK as long as you plan it out so that the country you are attacking has only 1 army on it. Share your armies or you will lose pretty quickly.
Triples - Same as doubles but you have a third player on your team.
I would advise staying away from Freestyle games until you get a good feel for the game and maps.
There is no luck, only preparation and execution.
Alliances are for the weak, whimpering masses looking for someone to hold their hand through the storm.
