Site holiday

Postby Mr_Adams on Sun Jul 03, 2011 12:29 am

The Euro peoples and such get their football holiday... Can we have a 4th of July themed something or other for the Americans? Maybe just a banner in the corner? Or the dice could be fireworks for attackers and soccer balls for defenders, or something. I mean, we yanks make up at least 90% of the site, right? :D

P.S. screw the form.

As long as it's not pink or sveedish chef, you should be happy.

God that swedish chef thing was the worst, I came close to quitting CC over that, and probably will if they ever do it again.

Actually, I heard that Yanks are only about 55% of the site, if I remember correctly. Canadians are about 20% (again, I'm just reproducing that from what I heard someone say. Not sure how I'd check those numbers.)

Celebrating the July 1st/July 4th weekend was my idea with the Friendship Festival tournament. Check it out.

No one in the US cares about soccer. I think it's the 6th most popular sport, after NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, and NASCAR.

You know your sports is horrible when driving a car is a more popular sport.

Hello there! This one's right up my alley ;) No, there will not be any country-specific holidays, as there are non-Yanks here, you know! We want to organize events that apply to and encompass the entire community. If we do anything at all for holidays like today, it will be small.

Basically the entire world besides the United States watches soccer... even when our women won the World Cup we really only cared about the hot players as opposed to the victory :P

But the Olympics - we're there for that! :D

The only real difference I can can tell between men's and women's soccer is that the women are tougher and better to look at for 90 minutes than the men.

On the scorboard right now US players make up 8648 of the 18319 active players right now. The UK take 2nd with 2075 and Canada 3rd with 2007
So that's 47% American Players

This.

I love how during the men's world cup I had to hold my breath because of the uncertainty of the US getting out of the group stage.

During the women's world cup it's completely expected. I don't get why the women's team is so much better compared to the men's team.

wealth

in most countries the girls would have to give up playing to start a family and/or earn a living. this means there's a smaller talent pool to choose a team from.
