Actually managed to get everything done today.
Approximately two thousand people are on board the luxury cruise ship when it leaves its final port before setting off to Hyperborea Island. The passengers are told to go back in their cabins as the freezing waters become rougher. Soon the waters calm completely and the passengers are informed the ship will reach port soon. The surrounding environment seems surreal, the whether a humid subtropical cut by a crisp sea air, the island bathed in the perpetual glow of the unsetting orange arctic sun, the land terraformed with plants and trees form around the globe meticulously sewn along the pathways to large buildings and monuments.
At port everyone is instructed to leave the boat, they are informed that they may explore the island as they wish, but the owner will be giving a welcoming speech back at the port in two hours.
Two hours later:
Not everyone shows up, but still a rather large crowd is seated in front of a stage.
"Welcome Guests, to the land of Eternal Happiness!" The resort owner says to the crowd on the newly erected stage. "Or at the very least, two weeks when the ship leaves, we hope you stay forever though!" jokes the man. Suddenly a heavy set man in a ski-mask pushes him off stage "Sorry, but we'll be leaving even earlier, and the ship is going with us, say in 30 minutes if everyone cooperates?"
A few dozen similarly disguised people carrying automatic weapons rush to surround the audience.
"This must be a joke!" "Don't touch me!" some indignant cries come from the guests who try to push past.
"Not kidding here" says the man at the podium as he signals his soldiers. They open fire into the crowd for just a few seconds, leaving dozens dead or wounded. Before the crowd can react with panic the masked man shouts into the microphone, "NOW! You rich slobs can stay seated and hand over your valuables so we can leave soon, or we can shoot you all and take our time sifting through your pockets."
20 minutes later:
The criminals board the ship with sacks full of hundreds of thousands of dollars in international currencies, fine jewelry, electronics and other valuables.
"Heh, don't worry, we'll leave the ship for you a few miles out to sea if you want to go swimming for It" says the boss through a loudspeaker.
As the criminals sail away the resort's security teams finally arrive to give chase on speedboats, around a mile out to sea they catch up and start to board the ship.
Gunfire can be heard from the shore, but the battles outcome soon becomes inconsequential when the ship explodes into a massive fireball.
The crowd is in an uproar.
"Did they shoot the engine or something?"
"No way, a boiler can't make a whole ship explode!"
"Then it could only mean there were bombs set on board"
"But we were the only ones who were supposed to be on the ship when it next set sail...."
