My membership recently expired and I did not know till I had been downgraded, would it not make sence to give some notice before it runs out so that people don't run into trouble joining games.

Just a thought.

you get an email before you are going to go back to freemium its something like a week or two before it runs out

An E-mail indeed is sent out, and you can always view expiration on the Upgrade!/Premium Page. However, I think we can do better to alert Premium Members when their membership is running out, either by a PM, a My Games Page Alert, both, something else entirely, etc. I'll see what we can do!

I never check my regular emails so a pm would make much more sense for me.
