IF he is from cult, he could lie just to get counterclaimed by a cop. If he's just a regular cult goon, it makes all the sense in the world to sacrifice a goon for town's cop. I mean, I don't think his claim is fake, but I can definitely see reasons why he'd claim cop.

A living goon is always better than a dead one. No matter who he ousts. Preserving your life is always the first priority when playing scum or cult. Well, Naxus was at L-1. He was forced to claim. He had to fakeclaim a pro-town role. He had big chances of a real townie counterclaiming and getting him lynched anyway. Agree with me so far?

See my response to Commander. Plus, commander is right. With two scummies down already (one of which being the godfather) they aren't going to be sacrificing themselves very easily. Unless he is a mafia cop (unlikely but not unheard of) then there is no other way that this claim could help him.

I see where you are coming from, but I disagree at least partly. Think of this as a trade - a cult goon lost, but a cult gains a cop (or at least gets rid off the cop). What if you leave that cop alone and he accidentally stumbles upon cult leader and cult leader is lynched? That's a huge loss, so while this doesn't have to be true, I can easily imagine and see a cult sacrificing a goon to get rid of the cop - he's simply too dangerous.

I agree that the claim is consistent. I trust naxus being a tracker and I have good reason to believe he is also a cop (if he were only a mafia/cult tracker, he could have framed Gilligan by saying he visited Firth on N2 - no need to fakeclaim the cop part and risk himself unnecessarily).

I'm about 95% convinced Gilligan is cult. The other 5% are not enough for me not to vote on you.

Here's the catch: Gilligan, if you confess you were recruited and cooperate, I am certain I can make you an offer you can't refuse (think of you as Hans Landa from Inglorious Basterds - without the scar).

If you don't, you get my vote tomorrow night. That is, if you were not already hammered before. Make your decision quickly.

He claimed a cop/tracker, meaning he gets both at night. You claim cop. Yours is essentially the same thing, just less powerful. I can't see both being present in this game.

I have to go with Yoshi and everyone else that has pointed out that with 2 lynches on mafia and the godfather taken out that he would be a hard sell to claim cop just to see who would counter claim to get a NK with less than handful of mafia players left. It definitely could be done and I am 100 % confident that naxus is telling the truth.

But it is more likely that naxus did investigate Gilligan and determined him to be 3rd party so Unvote VOTE Gilligan

Night 3

Darkness fell quite slowly over the forums that day. Even as twilight approached the two different parties had differing opinions as who to lynch. One party preferred Naxus as the lynch. Another one preferred Gilligan. Who to lynch?

After a lot of persuasion it was decided that Gilligan would be the one to lynch and once his name was sent in there was no going back. As the town rifled through his account they found not quite what they had been looking for, but a start.

Gilligan, Evil Semp Recruited 3rd Party Vigilante is dead.

Both the mafia and the town were buoyed up by this result. Finally it meant confirmation of the group, but how to stop it was yet unknown.

Night 3 will be 48-72 hours or how quick I get the actions in.
