4. retired? yes
5. starting pitcher? primarily, yes
6. Did he pitch in the NL East? no
7. any cy youngs? no
8. did he play in teh NL central? no
9. was he on any major league team's active roster within the last 20 years? no
10. did he play on any NL california team? no
11. did he play in the NL before there were NL divisions? yes
12. did he play for the dodgers or the giants? no
13. Hall of Famer? no
14. is it Jim Konstanty? no (nice one, i've never heard of that guy)
15. did this guy play before 1945? no
16. was he on the mets? no

but i am a huge braves fan and this fellow passed away recently.
