While I agree with this, don't wait to make mistakes to learn what was the better play. Ask them. Or even better, tell them what you are thinking of doing and ask them if it's the right play. Certain maps have specific flows to them, and experienced players know them well. Heck, when it's your turn, ask a question in game, and then post on their wall to check in the game, and then see the advice before you move. I do this with my regular partners on occasion just to make sure we're on the same page and perhaps he sees something I haven't.

They cannot be compared to team games.

Think of team games as you would a 1v1 - would you go for Gen Pop/Yard in a 1v1? Of course you would.

Not sure if you've been reading my posts, but I gave you good info after you screwed up in round 1. There was no reason for you to do it again in round 2. After you did it again in round 2, that's when we got REALLY pissed. We gave you everything you needed to make a good decision, but you still hit neutrals.

though strategy plays a very large part my strategies are free form. they allow for wiggle room and contingencies... if something goes wrong i know i can fall on something else to help me through.

you're right comm is being fairly respectful. as i said, i doubt i want to play with nik again. not to say i don't like the guy, love friendship and ponies to him, but his demeanor makes me so mad and it's not the best light to cast myself in.

I play a ton of different maps, and I play with all sorts of settings. I don't play for points, but I do like climbing in ranks. Following the basics, some of which have been stated here, have made me a pretty decent player. You say you want constructive criticism, but you are unwilling to listen to the basic do's and don'ts.

As for the neutrals, there is never going to be a one on one game where taking 12 neutrals will be better than taking 12 enemy troops.

I play a ton of different maps, and I play with all sorts of settings. I don't play for points, but I do like climbing in ranks. Following the basics, some of which have been stated here, have made me a pretty decent player. You say you want constructive criticism, but you are unwilling to listen to the basic do's and don'ts.
