That made me laugh.

But how are they supposed to know how much better than them HA is if HA doesn't tell them?

HA is pretty cool :D

Sometimes shit happens, I think I'm decent, but I've been a cook a few times. HA is right though, if you stay at cook your doing something wrong. Especially if your playing high ranks, you lose virtually no points, yet gain heaps when you luck out and win one.

Be proud you aren't a whiney stat whore that crys when bad luck strikes so others now its not your usual l33t skills, not proud that your a cook.

I'm with HA on this. Cooks cannot be good players (I would say the same about most cadets/privates, too).

In my view, there is one exception:
I believe that a "decent" team gamer may team up with 3 terrible players (a lot) and become a cook.

But I really don't see any other way it could happen.

And, honestly, if you are a good player... yet you continue to team up with random shitty players, joining team 2 against established teams... what do you expect? It doesn't make much sense to me... I guess it could happen, but I doubt it.

Hmm... this all depends, of course, on one's definition of a "good" and "bad" player... which brings us to this thread: http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=141960

I don't want to speak for HA, but I think the problem may be that I have a different definition of a "good player" than your average CCer, especially those of you who are currently below 1000.

You may not think of yourself as a "bad" player, but I would probably see you as such.

These are just my thoughts on cooks in general, and are not meant to be directed at the OP.

Who would have thought it would take a simple title like 'proud cooks asso.' and some pertinent comments to quickly uncover snobbery in its true diverse nature.

I'm going to say right here and now that if you gave Blitz two hours with a monkey, a map, and (one would hope at least) some form of reliable protection, he could have the little champ playing better than one's average cook.

May I just add that I'm not suggesting for a second that Blitz would be doing anything dirty with the map (to the monkey), he would no doubt be going over the finer points of east asian politics in relation to quads theory on classic....or something equally constructive. The 'protection' I speak of is regarding both facial and testicle protection - for example plastic rap or a piece of newspaper - from a possible simian savaging.

fruitcake...... :) i like you. a great player may never rise beyond cook because he plays alot of games and doesnt win them all, or... a great player might not rise thru the ranks to become anything more because he TRIES to stay a cook. did you ever think of that? that way he can knock snobby stat whores down a peg by ripping them up as a cook.

I play a lot of games and I don't win them all... but I'm not a cook.
That is not a valid explanation, xenowolff.

Very high ranks? In the games since you have come back (numbered 8000000+) which there are 20, there has been a total of 9 officers that have been in your games. (2 majors, 3 captains, and 4 Lieutenants). 2 of which (1 capt, and 1 lieut) were actually your partners in a game of doubles. (I'm at work and very bored)

Your games are filled with low rank players. Your win percentage is 24%, and of your last 20 games, 9 of them are on either Feudal Wars or Feudal Epic.

The "good" cooks I have played with usually ran at around 9% winning and barely played the same map twice and mostly standard 8 player games.

I'm not trying to say that you are a bad player. I judge players after I have played with/against them a few times. But saying that you are a cook because you play exclusively against tougher competition is stretching it.

Can somebody else please come in here and tell Canadian Bacon not to take the Cell Blocks before Gen Pop/Yard? He's hitting neutrals and thinks it's okay, despite Nikola and I telling him several times that IT IS NOT OKAY.

The thing is, CB, that when someone says that you are a good player, then the others expect that you know the basics of 2v2 and 3v3 which include not attacking your own teammates unless they have transfered the troops, and there is a major gain from taking his territ. Also, leave neutrals alone. In Supramax, you need to attack neutrals at some point, but not so early in the game. You need to use your troops to beat down the other team, and hitting neutrals doesn't do that.

I've lost doubles games because my partners were so stuck on the idea of getting a bonus that they would attack me to get it, but leave themselves wide open that they would not see that bonus for even a round.

So, it's not about them taking your turns or telling you what to do (although you should listen to guys who triple your score, you might learn a couple of things) it's abount knowing what NOT to do that will lose games. We all make mistakes, there is no shame in that, but when you play in a team environment, you have to make sure you play as a team, and not 2 or 3 or 4 individuals. Teams that play as individuals are really easy to beat. Reason I don't play with random partners anymore.

1) i went color dyslexic, it happens... didn't happen again.
2) if people would tell me what i can do instead of berating me and not attempting to tell me why what i did was wrong shit like this wouldn't happen. these guys have serious communication issues. i don't think i'll ever play with blue again.
