We're not Brazil we're Northern Ireland! & England suck

Postby RobinJ on Wed Mar 28, 2007 5:22 pm

Are we heading for Euro 2008 or what?

Just went top of the qualifying group tonight (2-1 over Sweden!)

And look at our other results lately:
4-1 Leichenstein
0-0 Denmark
3-2 Spain

AMAZING!

Oh, and remember 1-0 England who now suck so bad right now
- 3-0 against Andorra is pathetic - they are amateurs for God sake!

How can you call England 3-0 vs Andorra pathetic and consider these results as good ones?

4-1 Leichenstein (omg, how can Leichenstein score a goal???)
0-0 Denmark

^^ These were away, I assume, otherwise they would be pathetic, too.
Anyway, congrats... hope you will qualify :)

There's been some brilliant performances from Northern Ireland recently, hope they qualify -- they certainly deserve to.

Totally with you on that.

It's odd how England fans in general really want Wales, both Irelands and Scotland to do well, while the other way around.. well, like this thread.

Denmark is pretty strong, definitely very strong for a country that size.

Malta is playing good football lately, we beat Hungary, drew with Moldavia and only lost 1-0 to Greece who beat us with a penalty kick.

Malta's population is 1/4 that of N. Ireland I think! :) Still it would be ironic if N. Ireland qualified and England didn't!

Forza Malta! Forza Italia!

We (Scotland) lost two nil last night to Italy. They are the world champions and the game was played in Italy, so I'm not too despondent. I tell ya though, for large parts of the first half, Italy didn't look too clever. A little bit of luck and we could have really rattled them.

What? Dream on mate. Scotland never had any serious chances up front. It was a very relaxed game for Italy. If Italy had capitalised more on what they created it could have easily been 4-0 or more. And in the first half especially the first 20 minutes Scotland were compressed in their own half.

I'm for all the 4 home nations to go through were possible...

There's no better game than a true competitive England v Scotland derby or any other combo from our 5 nations

saying that I think England are the least possible to be going through based on their current performances and results ..

time to start practising my Irish chants for the finals methinks

Clearly you know nothing about football. Scotland began poorly, for the first 15 minutes (it didn't help that the ref blew his whistle every time a Scotland player went in for a tackle). The free kick that Italy scored their first goal with? Never a free kick. Piss poor refereeing. Subject to the game being played in Italy.

To say that it was a very relaxed game for Italy is just indicative of your lack of understanding. With Italy's poor start to this campaign and all the negative criticism they've had from the press it was vital that Italy played well and won with a significant margin. To suggest that Italy were relaxed is completely disingenuous.

It was clear, for the remainder of the first half, that Scotland were the more likely team to score. Donadoni must have given his players a right bollocking at half time, for Italy certainly started the second half with all guns blazing, but they looked an average side for most of the first half.

I know it was vital for Italy to win. However whining about the referee shows that you cannot accept a right decision against your team not that I don't know anything about football.

Also when I said relaxed I meant that Italy were always in command of the game and were never in any danger of losing it or Scotland of scoring a goal for that matter. So in that sense it was a relaxed game as Scotland were not a match for Italy. Indeed as I said the score could have easily been 4-0 if Italy hadn't wasted so many chances.

Btw Scotland were pretty lucky so far in this group, but now as you will see when the going gets tough, the tough get going. Italy and France will be the ones to pass from this group.

Italy had 51% possession to Scotland's 49%. Italy had 10 shots, Scotland had 6. Italy had 3 corners, Scotland had 4. Italy were caught offside 5 times, Scotland 4. I'm sure in the clueless delusional world that you hide in, this constitutes completely commanding a game.

You would love our chants (best fans in Europe in a survey) - so many! Even invented one for Dennis Wise coming over! However, some of them aren't quite so polite! lol.

As for the other nations - I would like to see Scotland through - they deserve it as well -, Wales are having a terrible time of it and the Republic I don't really care about. As for England - don't mind the team itself, nor so much the supporters but I do hate the media. England win one team against decent opposition and they are suddenly going to win the World Cup! When they lose one game, its the end of the world. Take for example the Spain game - Spain are a much better side than England anyway. Notice the pyramid:

N.I. 1 Eng 0
N.I. 3 Spain 2
Spain 1 Eng 0

See where I'm going with this? Anyway, everyone just does seem to be anti-England because they are so arrogant about football. No offence meant to the people - never disliked any English person I have met to be fair. :P

Oh yeah - a final word on Healy - he is capable of playing premiership football for a low ranked team like Watford or Sheffield Utd. His finishing is out of this world (although his passing and some other attributes aren't quite so good!)!
