Real Time Games Exclusively for New Recruits

Concise description:
  • Make it easier for new recruits to join real time games with each other, but these games to be only for new recruits.

Specifics/Details:
  • I think most are in agreement that the biggest reason for people joining Conquer Club and quickly forgetting about it is waiting days to take turns. This leads them to deadbeat, annoying everyone in the game, not only because of the wait, but because a five player game becomes a four or three player game. I think the best way to get new recruits to stay with Conquer Club is to encourage them to play real time games with each other. This would allow them to gain experience with other new players and to enjoy the game quickly. Some kind of new game option should be available to new recruits to join games that are only for new recruits and are designated to happen in real time. While I realize some people might leave at some point and ruin the real time game, there is a good chance that an eager new recruit gets a good game going out of the four they join. It doesn't even need to be a game option. Just a nice little suggestion that pops up when you first join with a link to certain games for them to play in real time.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • New Recruits who play real time games will be less likely to get bored right away and never come back to Conquer Club. This means more members (some of them becoming paying members) and less deadbeats. While this may not come close to eliminating the new recruit deadbeating problem, it certainly couldn't hurt.

Any thoughts?

I actually really like this idea, which is rare. Most of the time any suggestions that give more to the free players I am usually against. But I see a real potential for a higher rate of premium upgrades with this. The only thing is I would limit the real time games to only until they are no longer new recruits, and possible change the criteria for the first promotion from 5 to 10. Let it be known via PM when someone signs up that they can play real time games, still have a limit of 4 games at a time, but also let them know the ability to play the speed games goes away after the finish five or ten.
The only issue I see with this is the higher rate of multi accounts this would create. However (and dont get me wrong the C&A team does what they can) people are going to cheat anyway. The problem with multi accounts will never be solved.

Customer retention is a huge idea and issue in business and in CC I would like a very large percent (50% maybe) of players quit before,or during, or right after, the first 5 games. Doing something like this (a very small gesture) could potentially reel in some who would have otherwise stopped playing.

Buy Premium, play speed games.

This feature if implemented would be too easily abused.

Thanks. It sounds like you're talking about speed games. That was my original idea, but I realized this would just be away for people to play speed games without paying. So instead, I think we should encourage them to join real time games. Anyone can play them, its just a game where the people are all online and play the game as if it were a speed game but they actually are normal 24 hour games. There are places in the forum to organize these games, but a new recruit is not going to know where to go or what to do. So I think we should make it very easy for these new recruits to join real time games. I'm not even dead set on the idea of them only playing other new recruits, that just seems like something that would be good for them so they are not farmed and so that they don't flood the real time games that are organized in the forum by experienced players who want to play with other experienced players.

As I explained above, I'm not suggesting to give new recruits and freemiums something they don't have, I just want to make it known to them that they can organize and play games in real time. People don't buy premium after one or two games. They need to see that they enjoy Conquer Club first. Unfortunately, most new recruits get bored of waiting for their next turn before they see how much fun it is. Real time games could fix that for some of them, and more of them would buy premium.

I like this idea - And I like them only playing other NRs - it's amazing how an early win can keep players around for longer until they learn the game! Keep losing to more experienced players and they're bound to give up!!

Plus, I don't think anyone will complain if less of them play in experienced players' games.

You can still play real time games as a regular member, you just have to organize them in the forum.

Funny thing is, a lot of newer players come into Live Chat for real time games. I see at least one new user come into Live Chat each day asking for a Real Time game.

Yeah, and after they play those games, if they want to keep playing, they'll figure it out. Plus a little tip could be put in saying to go to chat to set one up or something like that.

They get a message in their inbox telling them to set up real time games?

no telling them to go into live chat and the forum. it would be a smart move to tell them to set up real time games tho.

I like this idea, but it seems to be the carrot that causes freemiums to pay for premium. It would really be a game changer if the site opened up speed games to new recruits.
