How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:

Mods will no longer have to deal with C&A threads (and admins with eTickets) about ratings abuse
The ratings system is otherwise meaningless, so no loss there

Hello no! Don't remove the rating system. That helps me to know what people are *$#$@$ and also people that are #$#^$^$#'s.

Except that's basically irrelevant since their attitude shouldn't affect how much you enjoy the game.

I agree. That said, I have a feeling some kind of rating system is here to stay.

Truth is, it would not eliminate rating abuse reports, it would just mean that people who truly do have a game complaint will begin posting there or in discussion, etc (more than they do now). The rating system may not be worth much, but it provides a venting outlet.
