You took my answer! Any mutual fund in particular?

I use USAA mutual funds. Fee-free, well-managed, top 10 percentile money market performance rating.

invest it, 25k in high risk ventures, 50k in stable mutual funds, and 25k in US government bonds, i'm no economist, but i think i've diversified enough. Give it a few years and i'll buy myself a house (or at least part of one, houses on Long Island are selling for hundreds of thousand)

100k is a substantial downpayment for any house than non-evil people live in.

A two-tiered strategy. Buy one or two multi-family rental units and invest the positive cash-flow in my existing portfolio.

So obviously people who live in million dollar mansions are evil, right?

People like John Edwards?

$100k is a substantial down payment on a $1M house. It's not on $15M house.

Not to say that John Edwards isn't evil, of course.
