... I've been away from the US for a decade. On those rare occasions I manage a holiday back to the States (about once every 3 years), the country impresses the hell out of me. I've never been to the UK or Australia so no comparisons can be made by me, but when compared to China and Japan, America rocks.

First of all, Australians do not talk the same as Steve Irwin or the Crocodile Hunter.
Not all of us say 'Mate' and "G'day", or 'bloke'.
Not all of us like the beach, or bbq's (I do though, just speaking about my Vegetarian friend)
Not all Australians like meat (as stated before).
Not all of us like AFL (If you know what that is), Cricket, Rugby, League, and blah blah.
We don't just sit around, having a barbie, drinking beer. I hate beer.

The only accurate statement here is the one about Steve. The rest are clearly the thoughts of a Sydney-ite

Uh-hmmm. I don't live in Sydney, just one hour north of Sydney, so I guess it's not much difference. But I hardly ever travel to Sydney anyway.

Alright, so what about this whole "Bigfoot" thing. Is it a Canadian hoax meant to draw our attention to our northern neighbors? I guess there is also a sea monster affectionately dubbed as "Champ". Personally, I find the "Champ" creature more believable than this so-called "Bigfoot/Sasquatch".

Unfortunately, we have a lot of Bigfoot sightings here in America, mostly in the Pacific Northwest. We also have the legend of the "Jersey Devil", but that one has almost completely died out.

Besides the aforementioned creatures, I know of the "Loch Ness" monster (personally, I don't believe it exists). Are there any other legends or creatures that are unique in England, Australia, New Zealand, or Europe? (No, you cannot include Margaret Thatcher!)

A thing about Champ:

He's existence is much more plausible than Bigfoot, mostly because it's been a hell of a lot less documented that Bigfoot. That's probably the biggest reason behind it.

And for those who don't know: Champ is supposedly a monster that lives in Lake Champlain, which is located in North West Vermont (USA). Some pictures I have seen look much like the Loch Ness, only bigger (supposedly).

on another note we have a legal drinking age of 18. if it was raised to 21 our economy would collapse.

There's many myths/legends in Australia.
Like the Aborignal Dreamland legends.
And there's a child legend, which I forget what it is, but I think it's about a giant Bilby that lives near a billabong, and eats kids or something. As I said, I forget it.

the welsh national flag was based on my avatar, but i don't mind sharing.
The dragon, i think i am right in saying, represents a dragon(in red).
The green represents the colour green, and i'm not sure what the white means...maybe we only had two colour in the paint box when it was invented.

i've not checked all my facts, but i am certain that they are 100% accurate.

note to our north american cousins;
look at the use of the letter 'u' in colour...why do you despise using it so much? what has 'u' ever done to u?
