Boo!

So, the suggestion seems to be that while it was possible before to set up a bunch of seq. no cards team games and win through against all-comers on the basic maps, it has become harder, possibly because the overall standard of play has improved to the extent that richer pickings need to be found on more complicated maps.

If that's true, it is a damn shame.

Staying within this theme of change, can anyone tell me what's going on with young girls and biting? In my day, a bit of nibbling was to be expected, but full on chewing was certainly considered to be 'taking things a bit far...' Been stretching the old wings of late and have found myself whimpering "No...not the face!" and "My god, I'll spank you if you do that again!" Fun times, but where has this thing come from? Keeping up with the youth culture as I do (in fact I prefer to stay right on top of it) I wonder if it is related to the explosion of vampire-related tv. Maybe it is just Chinese girls? I don't know, but they chomp on you like dog with an unusually juicy bone.

Some of this could be due to the Society of the Cooks which teaches strategy on the Classic map. They focus on Esc Cards, but I'm sure over time their players get better at all settings on Classic.

I seriously doubt it.

I'll put it this way: 1v1s are way better practice for team games than Singles Esc... which pretty much tells you all you need to know about how useless Singles Esc knowledge is when it comes to team games.

And I'm sure people have always been playing Classic.

could any of this problem relate in part to people chasing medals

why play no spoils when you can also get your nuke medal
why play automatic when you can also get your manual medal
why play team when it is terminator or assassin that you need

Good point, however any idea about my young-totty biting issue? I feel I am witnessing a generational shift here but am desperate for some confirmation from said younger generation.

To bite or not to bite and how hard?

I had a bash at it yesterday but being so old I could barely even get a grip on...

Did you know that in Chinese blitz a holic means self-aggrandising pip-squeak? If you pronounce it with a mouth full of dumplings that is. Strangely, if said while while hoofing on a crack pipe it might well be taken to mean "Thotabollocks." But Chinese is such an odd language. A slight alteration in tone and you'll suddenly find yourself saying "Lemonyhefferflaps".

Mr Changsha wrote:One of my favourite past times on CC has always been playing percentage players on classic trips. I loved teams comprising of two brigs and a colonel who would create ten or more games, and then just wait to destroy the uninitiated. I would roll up, never take more than one of a teams set, and then get myself some 30-10 action. Or in my early days much better. Wonderful odds nonetheless.

That always made me happy.

So upon my return I waited for some juicy offerings on my new favourite thing, 2 on 2 unlim. dubs 2.1. It started well with a waiting colonel (low) and a captain. In I jumped. I waited for another and I have to tell you, I waited in vain. I've waited days without seeing a hint of game. Not even a bog-standard team, nothing.

I find this appalling. My very enjoyment of the site may hinge on my need to join games I can win with excellent odds. I had a look over at classic trips and found 13 games with the same, admittedly decent team. I can remember when there were teams lining up to offer themselves up for appalling odds. Where have they all gone?

I think a certain percentage of players stopped doing this.

any high ranked dubs team that makes lots of dubs games on 2.1 will not be high ranked for too long, i'd imagine. far too much luck involved there.

Well, I would venture a guess that the increasing availability of internet (especially considering rule 34) has made all sorts of fetishes more accessible and socially acceptable. Just be thankful fursuits were not involved. Although it could just be that furry sites are getting blocked by the great firewall...

On the other hand, perhaps there are some socio-behavioral reasons for the phenomenon. Perhaps the Chinese girls are venting their frustration born of living in a largely patriarchal culture upheld by a totalitarian belief system and feel empowered when they get to sink their fangs into the rich white guy who they see both as a symbol of male oppression in their own culture, but also of a different cultural atmosphere which they see as frightening and enticing at the same time.

On yet another hand, it could also be a simple defense mechanism: after all, these girls aren't used to schlongs that rank above the asian scale of phallometrics, and biting could be their way of communicating "you're coming in too fast".

Did you know that it is quite common for Chinese broads in Guang Dong province to eat babies?

"Bollocks!" I hear you cry...

Well, when I say 'babies' I mean foetuses, after-birth and other profoundly messy bits. But when I say I 'eat' I mean eat, sometimes in a soup, maybe in a dumping of some sort. Possibly a sandwich.

There is a dark side to Chinese women. Under that cuddly, communist exterior lies the pulsating heart of a cannibalistic savage.

So if you find a girl here attempting to chew her way through your lower lip, I think it would be rather unwise to assume she does so out of fear of the big white man's love shaft. That might lead to a rather dangerous sense of complacency, a belief in the invulnerability of the white man's equipment in the teeth of an East-Asian threat. Such misguided notions could lead to the prospect of a stiched-on schlong and, in a wider sense, to world war 3...

With regards to the percentage players (such a polite term ;) ), am pleased to see enough high ranks are playing 2.1 teams unlim. to keep me busy. Is it too 'luck-based'? Not sure about that billy07, though I do bow most subserviently in the face of your esteemed rank. If I win well over the next few games I will naturally claim it is all skill, if I lose horribly then the game is obviously a freakin' crap-shoot.
