I've run Windows XP and have never once had a problem.

Perhaps it is because I take care of my software? I've got a Stingray External Firewall, Avast! Anti-virus, and I regularly run Lavasoft Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D.

I have never had a major boot error with Windows.

I can understand why so many people like Macs, they don't want to learn how a PC works. They don't care about being able to do their own upgrades and thus save money. They also don't care about being able to customize and tweak their PC to peak efficiency.

I can understand that, it's a big step going from Apple's MyFirstComputer to the real thing.

Apple's going to become less reliable though, now that they've switched to the x86 platform that PC's also run on. So much for your vaunted superiority Mac-Heads.

=D>

I only use Norton Anti-Virus, and that alone seems to be holding up fine.

I think that some of the problem is that people see someone's personalized computer, and think "Wow, that's cool, but I'll never be able to do that, so why should I get a PC if I can't do cool stuff like this?" But the reality is, you don't have to do that. The only personalization I've done on my compy is changing the background, and a minor tweak mouse/sound settings. That's it. The basics of a PC shouldn't be that hard to master.

Also, some people I know switched because they think they know what they're doing, but they don't. So they meddle around with all that good stuff inside their compy, and break it, because they have no idea what they're doing. Then, they bitch about how hard it is to run applications.
