What just happened?

Postby Veldrinshade on Sun Nov 28, 2010 2:19 pm

Hi,

I've had a few games here on CC and today I decided to try a speed game for the first time...and boy was that speedy

Speed Game 8048220 Round 7

First of all he moved simultanious (but I read that its possible when you play freestyle) but the sheer amount of troops :-0

How is that possible so fast? The spoils aren't even escalating.

For the first four rounds we had a normal pace both of us, but then....:-S

Could anyone please explain what happened to a noob who thought he wasn't a noob :-)

Thanks

It's the map. The way the bonus structures are set up, multiple bonuses don't just add-up, they're multiplied.

Sequential speed games are still fun.

I'd suggest:
1) Try speed games with someone closer to your own rank
2) Start off with sequential, then move on to freestyle
3) Play a map you are familiar with to start with
4) When you do move on to speed freestyle games definitely get clickable maps and get familiar with it before starting - it is such a huge advantage

Speed games are fantastic, but I think you not only tried to run before you could walk ... you tried to run the olympic 100m sprint. Try a sequential game on your favourite map and I'm sure you'll be a convert in no time :)
