After taking a quick look at some singles games you're in, it seems like you're being too aggressive. It's not good to spread yourself very thin and attack as much as possible.

Try to only take 1 territory per turn, unless of course you're eliminating someone or taking a whole continent (which you should only do if you have enough armies to successfully take it with enough left over to protect it).

Some people don't even attack on the first round, just deploy their armies and save the for when they have better odds than on a 6 vs. 3.
Best Score: 2889, Colonel, 97th place, 29% wins

Of course, those people often tend to be bad at math because 6 v3 is actually really good odds.

true but the odds are better the 2nd round when you can then hit 6 to 1 with minimal men loss

Probability of successfully conquering a country (attackers v. defenders):

6 v 3: 77% (first round card)

6 v 1: 99% (no first round card)

Depends how important that card on the first turn is to you. Also, there's no guarantee that you'll find a 6 v 1 in the 2nd round, or that the 6 v 1 will be in an area of strategic importance for you.
Cheers,

Escalating games - don't bother getting a card in the first round. You want the cards you turn in to be worth the most. If you are in a game with a lot of experienced people at escalating, don't be surprised if you don't get a card by the 3rd round. Someone will cave in eventually though. ;)

One of the better tactics if you are in a bind where your armies are low is to ensure that you have at least 2 armies on each territory versus 1. This creates a "minefield" effect and you get to use both dice on defense versus just one, which is usually a surefire kill.

Don't pull all of your armies into larges piles at first. This will leave you with a lot of 1s that are easy to take by all of the other players looking to get easy cards - let them make that mistake. At least, that's what I consider it.

Keep a low profile and try and have at least a 3 spot in each continent. It will make you harder to take out because someone that is wanting to take you out will not want to stretch themselves out to get you.

While I am still working on my "every game is winnable" theory, these are just rule of thumb thoughts I have as I only play escalating games. I'd post some of my other ideas, but I'm still trying to perfect them. ;)

Enjoy..

If you want to remain agressive though, play a 3 player terrminator escalating unlimited game on world 2.0 The first turn you get about 15 troops
