Music Festivals

Postby stinkycheese on Thu Mar 15, 2007 2:10 am

More specifically does anybody actually go to them? Even more specifically, is anyone here going to Bonnaroo?

My gut tells me that you are all a bunch of losers, and the answer is no...someone prove me wrong!

Here are some good ones:
Bonnaroo
Lollapalooza
10K Lakes Music Festival
Austin City Limits
JazzFest
All Good Music Festival
Langerado Music Festival
Voodoo Music Festival
Beale Street Music Festival

Pre-kids days I used to do the festivals here in England. Glastenbury 6 times reading 4 and a number of others , moved onto doing global gatherings and summer sound systems later on when my clubbing scene changed but that's a distant memory now

Once seen a documentary on the burning man in the states and that looked feckin awesome tho .........someday maybe lol

All things being as they should be on ticket day and I'll be going Glastonbury yet again this year (no kids yet panicker, but all the folks I know who have them head for the Big Chill instead but it just ain't edgy enough for me)... I already have tickets to Green Man which is a folk wig out in Wales, and I may go Bestival and I'm working bar at Latitude in Suffolk this year...

And yes of all the US festivals Burning Man is the one that appeals to me most but its a hell of an undertaking even from the US so coming from the UK would make it a phenomenal logistical feat - but I still intend to crack it one year...

The line-up for bonnarroo looks awesome again this year too but ts nothing out of the ordinary in comparison to the UK festival scene so I couldnt justify the trip....

That's not even a festival... That is just one long concert... Festivals go on for days and have hundreds of acts performing...

Don't get me wrong, I've been to Ozzfest twice and loved it, but I don't think it can truly be considered a festival...

I went to Sasquatch last year, which was hot delicious apple pie.

I'll check out a few SXSW shows this year. Pretty much every good band is playing.... every... good... band.

Rock and roll... If your ever around OKC or Tulsa, let me know and we'll go out drinking- assuming you drink.

I'll do the same when I'm in Austin this summer...

My best friends band, Colourmusic, is playing Thursday, Friday, and Saturday up and down 6th St... Go see them!

I only really listed the festivals that are close to me. As I have no knowledge of the ones in the West and other countries.

And as has been said before, Ozzfest is not a festival.

Perhaps if people would be so generous as to gimme some websites, with the artist lineup preferably, then I could amend the first post.

Been to Leeds Festival quite a few times, although the line-ups have been reasonably disappointing the last few years. Last year, however, we discovered 20 pills and a wrap of coke on the floor which made our weekend!

Should be going to Glasto this year, all being well... First time at glasto and I'm looking forward to it a lot. Never been able to get it off work before but this year I'm unemployed!
