desist and reflect

Postby Hatchman on Tue Mar 13, 2007 9:34 am

4 wins in my first 12 games, and then 14 straight losses. I'm gonna finish the games I'm in, and then take a break I think. This aint good.

Thanks to those who helped me out in the forum, and thanks to my team mates and opponents...

1st off it is always a learning curve! join a game and give me # of game, then let me watch and advise on different things I have learned thru the time I have played here. There are always mistakes we make that we do not consider mistakes. Like trying to take and hold europe or asia . you do not do this in risk. you will be defense while everybody is offense!

Hey man... Never give up... I still suck at this game after so many but still keep trying... It's the only way to get better... Like chess.

4 out of twleve is 1 out of three....thats actually a good ratio...especially if youre not in all three player games....so dont think you arent playing well...

but if you play some team games, you can boost it significantly

I see you're playing a lot of seq doubles with different partners. Try finding one partner you can work with and play games only with him/her for a while. You can also look through the posts in the forum (avoid Cynthia's and hecter's, as they are mostly spam), some people gave really good advice. Sully has posted some good ones. Finally, try finding an experienced player who may want to partner with you and share his/her experience.

I agree. Get a friend to join you for doubles on a regular basis. This way there's less risk of your team mate deadbeating on you, plus communication and cooperation should be much smoother with someone you know. This gives you an edge when playing against teams with random members. Playing with unknown people might be fun and all, but you might also get stuck with an idiot.
