Really?! If you are going to vote for someone give a good reason. This is your second unexplained vote in an HOUR! Colton24 didn't even vote you at first, but for some reason you got really defensive really quick! I FoS sensfan but I will not vote for him without further investigation because I don't want a BW until we know exactly what we have here.

I just noticed Safari and Naxus already had mentioned this, sorry for me not noticing.

Also I'd like to add that I am FoS'ing Squirrel. I'm not interested in him dead (yet), but I don't like the attitude he's taking up against Safari.

ummm.... could you explain a bit more? What's so bad about what I said about safari? I made an observation and nothing more.

You made an observation, followed up by an accusation, and a vote. (Which was close to turning into a bandwagon.) Would you call that nothing more?

Now as for the observation itself... What you're saying is that the new guys should be able to play the game at the same level as the veterans. Quoting: "Should we question poor judgment any less simply because it is coming from a less experienced player?" Yes, we should. I for one haven't finished a single day on this forum, let alone a game. I have no idea how you guys play this game, and I have no idea how I should judge your playing style because I have never seen your style before. Then is my inexperience proof for me to be scum? Of course not, you guys only might figure out sooner than usual because you will recognise my mistakes sooner than you would had I played, say, 10 games.

If I interpreted correctly what Safari stated in his post, he's just saying that because of the above mentioned, you might not wanna kill off the new guys too frantically. Next, you're telling him to be buddying and not sharing information, followed up by a plain accusation? I realy don't get your way of thinking there. That's just what I'm trying to say.

Thank you! That is exactly what I'm saying. There's a lot of new blood in here, and I wouldn't want to lynch a power role because someone misplayed their role. Take this for example:
sensfan wrote:Ok, honestly i dont know how to play this, and my role is terrible for starters, but I think its safe to no lynch this round, its not going anywhere.

I would say that sensfan here is being extremely defensive, using OMGUS votes, jumping his vote around trying to start a bandwagon with minimal reasoning (and rather poor reasoning at best) and then switching to a no lynch vote citing "bad character". If this were someone like Mandy or Tal, we'd have lynched his ass right off the bat. However, given that this is a newer player, I'm more hesitant for yanking the rope on him. Not that I'm absolutely against the idea. I think we should pressure a claim out of him by going to L-1 or L-2, but I would think harder about this lynch than I would for someone more experienced.

Nothing personal sensfan, it's just that most everyone has picked up on some erratic play and that's going to get you killed in mafia.

I'm going to unvote Safariguy5, as my initial voting of him was simply because he voted me, and not because of anything particularly suspicious. Voting me when I hadn't even posted in the thread yet just makes him a jerk, not necessarily scum!

I would never hold any newbie up to the expectations that I would a veteran player. I'm not going to expect a perfect defense out of you or foxglove or any newbie like I would Medefe or safariguy. but I would demand a defense nonetheless. In my opinion, any scumtell is valid whether its a veteran or a newbie and I would expect either to answer to their actions. The only difference between the two is how poor of a defense I will accept. For a veteran, I will be a lot less forgiving than someone who just started.

So basically, the issue I had is that safari seemed to be ok with colton and wercool playing questionably and he didn't try to get any information out of their behavior. The two of them are hardly considered newbies anymore (in the fact that they know how the game is supposed to run and how scumtells are found) and I don't think they should be given the leeway that true newbies receive. By not making the accusation he was choosing not to participate in scum hunting and it could be construed as buddying with the two of them.

So instead of killing newbies, you kill the "bad" players? I woulnd't call that "scum hunting". I'd call it a prejudiced 1rst round strategy, and a bad one at that. I'm not surprised Safari didn't participate in it.

My fingers are burning to unvote and vote you, but I don't suppose that's gonna make this conversation any more constructive. Besides, your thoughts on how to treat newbies and "non-veteran" players have nothing to do with you being scum or not. I suppse you understand that that's what I've been trying to say... Someone's impression of how to play the game should't be the reason to vote someone off.

I'm quite honoured to be included among those you would hold to a higher standard, considering that this is my 3rd or maybe 4th game of mafia on this site.

If I've counted correctly, sensfan is currently at 3 votes. Forcing a roleclaim can only be good for all of us, I assume sensfan's early votes were made jokingly, but the manner in which he defended himself strikes me as odd. For lack of a better lead I think we should put a little more pressure on him:

Ok, I've gone through the basics now, and why did I vote colton? I didnt know how the game worked. Why did I vote duday? I didnt know how the game worked. I've just understood the game, and for crying out loud, were we going anywhere? Nooooo. Everyone up until me had 2 or 1 vote, so I decided to vote no lynch, I saw it as the wisest thing to do. And now, just because I joke-voted my first two votes, I'm most likely gonna get lynched.

If you want to kick me out, go ahead, but your wasting a whole lot of your time, it's not going to help you at all.

It does, it is called a role claim. If they believe you, you will not be lynched. You are at L-3, so if three more people vote, you will die.

Ok, so what I'm getting here is that you're a townie who has some sort of nightkill mechanism. Sounds like a decently powerful role, but I take issue at how you went about finding out who is the mafia godfather. First, vote jumping around like that draws attention to you. If you're a town power role, you shouldn't make yourself conspicuous like that day 1. The longer you stay alive, the more powerful you become late game. I'm assuming there must be some sort of investigative role that could probably help you out. This is a pretty strong looking role, and without further information, I'd guess that we should see if anyone wants to counterclaim. I dunno if we want to press a lynch though...if he's telling the truth, town could be in a pretty big hole day 1.

It's not like us noobs know how to find the mafia guy right on with the appropriate strategy.

I'll take his claim, but I'm not sure I well know what it contains... As I interpret, you can give a name to the mod at night, and if its the mafia guy, he dies? Is that correct?

Not quite. I found my info. I am a person who if I kill the Archdemon, the town wins. (Can I actually say my characters name?) I claim to be a Morrigan. My nightkill is called Fireball, and I can sometimes accidently kill my team townies. Therefore, I'm gonna wait until its more cleared up before I use my NK, so I have time before I start using my NK's.

Unless anyone counterclaims, I would say he is telling the truth. In the game, Morrigan was a dark mage (so the fireball attack makes sense) who was allied with the main character (making her town). Also in the game, only a few people could kill the archdemon (characters called grey wardens), and although she wasn't one of them there is an optional ending to the game where she steals the archdemon's soul. His role seems to hold up to me.
