When Attacking an opponent (classic)

Postby Stephenk on Tue Aug 03, 2010 2:57 pm

When attacking an opponent, are you always at a disadvantage if you have roughly the same number of units as him (22 units vs 20 units)? What are the odds of rolling the same number on the dice? Also, how many units would you 'safely' need to be relatively assured of a victory against 20 units? I ask this because I just lost 16 units to 2 units - what are the odds of that?

Thanks.

In general, the attacker has a better chance to win any 3v2 roll. The problem is, that 30% is based on thousands of rolls and when you're rolling against 20, you're only talking about 20 rolls or so.

So the real question isn't, how likely are you to win? The real questions are, how much can you afford the loss, or how much can you afford not to try and let the opponent get the attacker's odds?
