New sounds for live chat

Just thought it would be cool if they got some more options on changing the kind of sound in the live chat, every time someone posts it makes that nasty blob sound that seriously sounds like someone just let one go in their pants, you can either turn it off or keep it on, would be nice if they had some different sound options

Something like what msn has? Customisable sound settings?

Cheers, JB ;)

Just saying please won't get the suggestion implemented, you need to muster up some support. I for one will support this idea, I don't see why we can't put a choice of three or four options in live chat. I'll ask a chatter and one of the tech team to have a look at this idea and hopefully they will give their input.

Cheers, JB ;)

Well, sound is just a file so lackattack can change it on the server side but I am not sure he will want to do so :p.

Feel free to provide the sound you want. The change itself will take 10 secs max.

Sweet stuff Dako. Ok grifftron, you are really going to have to muster up some support from the community before this can be considered for submission. Don't be disheartened though, it's a very feasible and sound suggestion. :)

Cheers, JB ;)

I don't know too much about coding but this doesn't seem to be a hard one to code. However, this doesn't seem to be an important upgrade that will attract many more people, nor a critical security update/bug, so this might be one of those things where Lack might do when he gets time on his hands. Just my thoughts though

Yeah i agree its not a big change and it probably won't bring even 1 more person to CC, but it would be nice for those in CC already and those that like the live chat. I would also like to see different smileys and what not, that would be cool, along with maybe a different background for the live chat, maybe a transparent CC logo would be kinda neat. Just ideas. But just changing the sound would be cool, i don't know where i could find sounds like Dako mentioned above.

Even though I rarely use Live Chat, I am in support of this.

There is a new version of live chat software out I think. We may be updating it in the coming months. If it includes new sounds or sound changes, I am unsure though!

We can also have our own smilies customized for the chat (pure settings file, no coding at all) - but we don't have a stable designer for the CC.
