Hmm ok, well if cult had a recruiter we'd be endgamed by now, so Wercool scum makes sense. This is a retarded amount of scum btw and yet we came close to a perfect game for town :P
Anyway, before anything I'd like AoG and me, who are clear but still didn't claim, to do so. Just cause I have a slight doubt only Wer investigated AoG, but this dragged so long I forgot.
I am (was) a Town Poison Doctor. I was supposed to be able to cure anyone poisoned, but since we got UTalan lynched quickly I've been a vanilla ever since.

I mostly tried to chose people who I thought were scum, but I think I kept on choosing townies (I didn't know they were townies at the time).

sorry for being inactive after my last post the internet on the computer went out and we only got it working today anyway i thought i was a vanilla townie but being a human bomb is kinda cool too, least i took one with me even if im not sure of which side he was on

LSU again pressured wercool for an answer to his questionable actions the day before. Wercool defended himself. AoG joined LSU, and ga7 finally acquiesced to their suggestions. He pulled out a throwing knife, and put it right between wercool's eyes.


wercool (Recruited Insane Cult Cop) has been killed!

Town has won!

LSU Tiger Josh (Sane Cop), Army of GOD (Town Jailkeeper), and ga7 (Town Poison Doctor) have defeated the Russians and Iraqi Insurgents and lived to tell the tale!

Additional Notes:

gregwolf was told he was a vanilla townie. He was not informed that he was a bomb.

I did not tell the cult that they had a 1-shot recruitment opportunity that triggered when 1 of them was killed. In that sense, vodean was wrong. I did not make the recruitment mechanism in response to him, I had planned it before.

I probably made a mistake recruiting wercool. The Bus Driver Action made things exceedingly convoluted. I should have just said "recruitment failed" and left things at that.

I would like comments on my modding and game balance issues. Since I wanted to have both mafia and cult, I made it mostly Non Vanilla. I was worried that town would be at a disadvantage since there was no true doctor (only poison) and mafia had two night kills. Therefore, I put a lot of manipulative and protective roles.

This was a lot of fun to mod. That bus drive by taco_man was brilliant. LSU played a great and somewhat lucky game. Bad luck on that frame for the mafia godfather. More or less, I tried to keep things somewhat close to Modern Warfare 1 and 2. The traitor role was inspired by Commander Shepard. The Insane Cop was Captain Price, the Sane Cop was Soap, the Bus Driver was their Russian Friend Dmitri, the Bodyguard was Roach, the various other town roles were their teammates (Ghost, American Rangers, etc.). Mafia were the Russians, Cult were the Iraqis.

Seeing the setup I guess thanks LSU lol, I can't believe we made it with all the anti town... If Taco had screwed up even one investigation or failed a protection with his busdriving we'd have lost, kudos to him. AoG saved my ass too :D
I think you did a good job Saf, but I definitely think the setup could have been a bit more tweaked for balance. Your idea of cult having an unadvised auto recruit was good, but then cult needed less useful power roles to balance that. Mafia had potentially two nks + a godfather (which I hope was not bulletproof to top it) which makes me think they only needed one. Bomb + Traitor were two extra threats for town (bombs usually are lynched so not very likely to hit scum), but else it was good town had so many protective roles with all this. Maybe I should have been a doc for both NKs and poison since there was only AoG left to protect a cop from NKs but that would have rendered him useless too. Anyway, I like that this kind of setup could have worked out for either side and I think overall the numbers made it fair with just a slight change like no town traitor. As for the execution, you did great and timely :D

Not really my best mafia game. Should have done better but after uta's poisoning failed to be honest I got paranoid that he could have been a usurper...no real good reason just mindless paranoia. as far as night 3 goes, this is where i was really careless. I knew I was immune to investigative roles so without a second thought I didn't make sure LSU was killed after the first failed poisoning of Ga7...I mean no I didn't know their was a framer in the game but I should have guessed. As far as claiming tracker, I didn't expect to live very long no matter what I claimed so I just came up with one I thought would be fun to defend (I probably could have done a better job of that too). Night 1 I killed PMC suspecting him of being a town power role. Night 2 taco-man as i didn't have any good leads as to cult recruiter so I just picked a person i felt it could have possibly been. Ga7 was poisoned because at the time I thought he may have been cult...LSU in an attempt to kill the cop (hoping that there wasn't any kind of doctor to protect him). In hindsight it may have been good to kill LSU myself but I felt he could possibly be valuable as a tool for finding the cult and was worried about the potential of a watcher being in the game. Like I said, not my best game made a lot of mistakes many just being careless...just hope to do better next time.

Very well timed. Minor balance issues but pretty good game and well timed all and all. As far as vodeans comment...it messed up my strategy...I was going to mention all these things about cult being one mislynch away from winning the game and everything (probably wouldn't have worked anyways) and than vodean's comment about no recruiter and It's like "shit." It's funny though...I almost made the decision to kill Wercool night 2 and I guess if that had happened I would have killed LSU. Busdrivers get me confused though I have a hard time keeping straight who does what to who. Night 3: I really did suspect spiesr of being cult...

Thanks for the game. We were pretty lucky in that game with really only one bad lynch and even then it did kill off a traitor on the bomb so it wasn't the "worse" thing in the world".

I really like the traitor role. I'm surprised it isn't worked into more mafia games. I'm glad everyone liked the game, with a smaller game, fewer deadbeats. I think next time, I'll try to keep the doctor in if I'm going to have both mafia and cult. Definitely 2 NK's is difficult to beat, although I was kind of hoping that they would hit cult or bomb or traitor. I have to say, LSU got very, very lucky with that Godfather investigation. I think given all that happened, that bus drive by taco_man Night 2 and that frame of the Godfather were the two key moments. If the Godfather had not been framed, I could conceivably see how mafia would win because the investigation role then becomes useless. Really, town was basically playing follow the cop because he kept picking the right people to investigate. It was a fun game, especially Night 2. Really, I did this game to test out some roles that aren't used often (Poisoner, Traitor, Bomb) on CC mafia games. Keeping that in mind, I'll try to put together another game in the future. Some sort of themed game I'm guessing again and around this size to keep the gameplay tight and remove deadbeats. I'll keep watching this topic for a while to see if anyone has any further comments. Nice job everyone, it was a pretty well played game (vodean revelation aside) and I definitely learned a lot as well (Shoutout to PCM for teaching me basic modding).
