Mandy was the only zombie not actively recruited by Nag. He walked into the zombie lair all by himself.
The roles:
1. LSU - Day Time Vig
2. PCM - Elite Bodyguard
3 F1fth - All or Nothing Guy
4 Mountainlion - Day Time Watcher
5 Fircoal/Safariguy 2.0 - Paranoid CCTV Guy
6 Iliad, /2.0 - Cop
7 Ga7 - JOAT
8 Mandy - Explorer
9 Nag - Zombie King
10 Cowboyz , / - Double Voter
11 Serbia - Roleblocker
12 Happy2seeyou/Gimpy - Mason Recruiter
13 Colton24 - Watcher
14 Safariguy5 - Tracker
15 Captainwalrus - Vig
16 Talapus - Doc
As announced in the invitation, which some people appear to have forgotten in the heat of playing, there were a few unusual roles in this game.
The Paranoid CCTV guy would record people visiting him on his cameras, and get the results the following night. If he died, town would find his recordings and get a list of everyone who visited him in the correct order, but without their exact actions. I put him in as a variation of the Paranoid Gun Owner, which in my opinion makes the game too much of a lottery.
The All or Nothing Guy was a kind of vig. Each night, he tagged another player with a pound of C4 explosives. During the day, if he had two people tagged, he had to decide whether to kill both of them or keep them both alive. Then, he started over.
The Explorer is pretty much what I fake claimed in the Reinquisition game. Each night, he travelled in one of eight directions. In seven directions, he would find some sort of bonus (one shot kill, one shot self protection, cell phone to join the mason network) which would be handed out to a townie chosen by random.com. Each gift would go to a different townie. In the eight direction was the zombie lair, which is where Mandy ended up in the last night.
The Zombie King could zombify players during the day. He had no night abilities, but at night every zombie recruit could kill someone. The problem for the zombies was that only Nagerous knew who they all were. All recruits only knew Nagerous, which created the possibility of zombies attacking each other. Had that happened, they would have died the following night from the inflicted wounds.
Since the game leaned heavily on the wellbeing of the Zombie King in the first few days, he had several layers of protection which decayed as the game progressed. To kill him on Day One would have required a combination of a lynch and a Day Kill. By Day three, though, he was as vulnerable as a mafia goon in a normal game.
Initially, things went quite well for town. Nagerous was unexpectedly busy in the final 48 hours of Day One and missed his recruitment. Hence the absence of the Bloodcurdling Scream on Day One. He asked me if he could be cheeky and get his recruitment in Night One, but I refused, though at this point I was worried the game might end before it began, as I had never contemplated the possibility that there might not be a Day One recruitment.
After that, however, everything that could go wrong for town did, whereas just about nothing went wrong for the zombies. Each vig kill, of which there were many, targeted a townie. You can thank Talapus for reducing the damage by protecting Colton in Night One. Even so, the vigs killed more townies than the zombies did.
The zombies, meanwhile, never attacked each other and were never stopped by any of the pro town protection mechanisms. Mountainlion was investigated twice and roleblocked once in Night One, when he was still a townie. After that, nobody came near him anymore. Nagerous was roleblocked in Night Two, I believe, but that had no effect, since he had no night action.
I was sure f1fth's attack on Colton would fail since Ga7 had announced he would protect him. When it looked like Ga7 might be unable to play because of the earthquake, I decided I would let him prtect Colton as he said he would, and then cryogenically freeze him until his return or removal from the game. At the last possible moment, though, Ga7 sent in his night action, which to my surprise was a tracking of Colton instead of a protection. I guess he must have suspected him, but it proved fatal for Colton and put another nail in the town's coffin.
Mandy's self zombification, which was probably the final straw, only had a 13% chance of happening, but it did. He did not cheat, as he wasn't informed of his zombification until dawn, and it was the next night he was ordered to shut up.
What Mandy did not know, was that PCM found his bloodstained purse with the initials 'M the X' and a rusty icepick in it, which was good for one day kill. At this point, there was still a bit of a chance for town, cause Ga7, Serbia and Gimpy all knew they were townies, and with a little time might have convinced PCM to kill someone else. /'s investigation of Serbia could have helped a lot there. Unfortunately, PCM misinterpreted Serbia's post in which he correctly identified Nag and F1fth as zombies, probably because he himself was accused as well. He sent in his Day Kill of Serbia before / made his investigation result public, which sunk whatever was left of town's chances.
When the number of zombies became equal to the number of townies, we went to the Sortie scenario. Serbia was still alive when I sent out the first message, but I received his kill before I got to the second. Again, that severly reduced town's sortie chances.
In the sortie, the townies had the choice of running out through exit Alpha or Omega, or staying put. If they chose to run, they could choose to cover another townies run or to run for themselves.
The zombies in turn were asked to pick an exit as a hunting zone.
In the Alpha direction, any surviving townie would find LSU's bloodstained daykilling device (the bangbangthoc machine). In the Omega direction, there was a motorcycle with the keys in it that would carry one townie to safety.
Gimpy and / stayed where they were. Serbia was going to sacrifice himself at the Alpha gate, but was killed by PCM before he got there. PCM chose to sacrifice himself at the Omega gate, where Ga7 decided to try to save himself.
Nag and Mandy hunted at the Alpha exit, where no townies showed up. The other zombies were drawn to PCM at the Omega exit, killed him and lost LSU, and let Ga7 escape because they were distracted.
The basic idea for this game was to mimick the way zombie invasion start out small and then quickly snowball out of control. In order to allow the townies to fight on even if they were outnumbered, I gave them a lot of vig options. So if the zombies had been cocky and revealed themselvesd when they thought they controlled the lynch, the day vigs could have wreaked havoc. Alas, it all backfired...
