I think it would be interesting to see the difference between the two for a player, and it would be more truly representative of what kind of player they are.
- When you click on ratings, have subtotal of freestyle games, and sequential games and total ratings as is.
Specifics:
This will improve the following aspects of the site:
- Be more accurate.
- Might cut down on ratings complaints.
- would be interesting to see at the very least.
Freestyle games are a different game altogether than sequential. Theres less time, more adrenaline, and typically far more...friction... between players. Mistakes are easy to make, and ratings suffer. Nearly all freestylers have lower ratings in general. Some would probably have low ratings anyways, but most would have good ones, if you only counted their sequential games. It would give just a little more insight into the kind of player, and would immediately make the ratings more descriptive and accurate, with what I would suspect is not a lot of coding, and there's more than enough room on the ratings page of each player to display it.
Really just a quick idea I had...I see no downside to it, potential for improvement...but up to you if its worth implementing.
Personally Id like to see above average, average and below average as the only options with a good sportsmanship tag, and a bad sportsmanship tag too...but that's another suggestion altogether, and i don't think its needed to be honest.
The ratings as is are actually quite good, and most use them for the intended purpose...but it might be interesting to make an improvement to quell some of the complaints....some of which, could be valid
