This is NOT a replacement for the current assassin but an idea for another kind
the plot is simple: each player has a target, once they eliminate them, they get their target's target, and so on until they are the last person left which means they win.
However, since you will be the last one standing anyway, to prevent people from killing other people's target for cards (since like i said you have to kill everyone anyway) if you do, you are eliminated
so lets say there are 8 players, and the target is sequential (for simplicities sake) so 1 targets 2 and 2 targets 3 and so on.
but 5 kills 1 for cards, which means 1 is now out of the running but so is 5
so the players left are
2,3,4,6,7,8
so 8 (who was after 1) now goes for 2 (1's target) and 4 (who was after 5) now goes for 6 (5's target)
why? well in he current assassin, its ok to suicide into your target because even if you only have 2 troops left on a world 2.0 board, it doesnt matter since you've won. But here if you do that you will be quickly eliminated because you are fighting and killing to the bitter end. essentially this becomes a mixture between assassin and terminator/standard, since you do have targets, but you do kill everyone.
Now comes the gray area. you will notice above i said it was
"a mixture between assassin and terminator/standard"
i was being specific there because which one its a mixture of depends on the point system of which im not sure of.
Point system #1: you get rewarded for each target you kill like in terminator.
PRO: encourages killing everyone since otherwise you could wait till its between you and another
Point system #2: the last person standing gets all the points
PRO: it keeps the game to the assassin style i am aiming for in that your goal is to stay alive more than to kill as it is in assassin 1.0
what do you guys think?
