Email deadbeats to quit all games

Postby Resin8 on Tue Oct 13, 2009 10:50 pm

Consise:
Have the system automatically send an email when a newbie (no completed games) misses 2 consecutive games asking them if they wish to quit all games.

Specifics:

I'm new here, but it seems that some new members NEVER return to take the turns in the games they joined when they first found the site.

I'm thinking that it might be helpful if they were to receive an email from the system asking if they are still interested. This email might contain text like:

"It seems that you are not taking your turns in the Conquer Club games that you joined. The other players in these games have been patiently waiting for you. If you are still interested, please take your turns. If you are no longer interested, please, as a courtesy to the other players click here to quit all games. Thanks!"

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • Saves waiting (& waiting) for that same person to not take their turn.
  • Keep games moving along.

Thanks for reading this. Great site btw!

For this to work, there would have to be a "Quit Game" option, which I understand used to be in place when the site was first created, but was quickly removed as it was prone to abuse. I don't believe that it would be reinstated.
Important Tournament Notice

The data for ALL of my tournaments has potentially been lost. I am working to recover it but as I am away on business all of this week, there will be some delay. Sincere apologies.
