3 person standoff

Postby kevinc on Wed May 24, 2006 5:06 pm

Hey,

I've ended up in a few 3 person standoff situations lately.
I've also lost them all. It seems really tough when you've 3 people each holing a continent and loads of fighting areas. Seems someone only wins when someone just gets pissed off an attacks another person. The 3rd person picks it all up.

Any tips on that situation, it's a very tough one to call.

Thanks

It sounds like you played Flat cards and its in that options nature. 85 % of those games goes to stalmate even if more then 3 players left and definatly with 3.
To end those games takes as someone alreay pointed out in erlier post that 2 team up against the 3rd or that 1 get impatient or run out of time making them hit blind like you said.
Its very predictable and only tip is to start play escalating cards. If you not used to that or have feeling it get out of hands when numbers get high, dont worrie. Once you get used to it its like riding a bike, it comes natural.
Use the greasmonkey script Troy wrote to keep easy track of cards and troops saving alot of time and give time to focus on strategys.
With escalating cards many more possible scenarios arise but one thing remains 'sigh', you still going to need ok dice like always for a win.
good luck and have fun

apperplunger - the problm is it's stalemate. It only happens on some of the maps though. Classic map seems less prone to it. Here's an example of a game I'm in at the moment.

VanCleef, I used to play escalating, but I actually find it a little boring. It seems like there's less strategy most of the time. Flat rate is good, but as you say, does end in stalemate sometimes.
