- You can vote with comment for each game as good, average or bad.
- Good and basic votes both have the same effect on your rating
- Clicking on a players name will have it further broken down into good /basic/bad categories of comment with percentages of each
Specifics:
- Your will have a percentage out of 100% equal to your total number of good or basic votes you have received in game.
- A example player profile might be Score (what would show next to the name) 90%
In the profile 51% good 39% average 10% bad. - The comments will be listed as such, so when you click on the 39% average in the profile, you will see all the comments that were listed with that rating.
- You would still be able to post a reply to other peoples comments on you, like now.
- A page with a link from the rating page that could be a guide for what to focus on in their comments.
Alternative:
- You could have categories of cheater/terrible and excellent as well. This would have no effect on your rating percentage as excellent rating would go with good and average and terrible would go with bad for the purposes of rating. It would just mean further breakdown when you click on the profile.
The problem with the current rating system is :
- That people feel like they must leave extreme ratings. Either 5's even if it was a average game, or 1's, even if it wasn't that bad, out of spit and to maximize the effect on that persons rating. Which leaves us with very inaccurate ratings.
- Without the ability to leave comments, the ratings don't tell us what we need to be aware of, those one word codes we can add 4 of, don't really cut it.
This fixes those issues by :
- Since good and average have the same impact on overall rating, one can feel much more free to leave either for a game. By having them broken down further in profile, it makes making a good verses average rating still matter.
- Being able to leave comments means you can better know what happened with those ratings
- By having the comments broken down by type, we can see a sampling of the worst , average and best of a person from others perspective, just by a click.
