Sorry but this is an Incorrect premise to your argument: Players drop bonuses in all sorts of game. However, the problem is more likely in games with fewer players.

Probably. He is less likely to hold the bonus though. Therefore the influence of strategy is increased and the influence of jousti-ness reduced.

Making 1 v 1 less of a lottery may encourage farmers. However, it is not the cause of farming. To fix a problem it is better to attack the causes, rather than peventing it happening and causing inconvenience to everyone else. If people cheat then they should get their asses kicked rather than genuine doods getting a crap deal. Its like increasing insurance costs instead of catching burgulars!!
