The top rivals in the NHL are (not in order, you rate them)...

--Maple Leafs-Canadiens
--Flyers-Rangers
--Devils-Flyers
--Devils-Rangers (Hudson River Rivalry)
--Islanders-Rangers
--Bruins-Canadiens
--Blues-Blackhawks
--Oilers-Flames (Battle of Alberta)
--Senators-Maple Leafs (Battle of Ontario)
--and yes in my mind the top NHL rivalry is the Colorado Avs vs. Detroit Red Wings.

It's not how many teams that hate the Steelers, what you have to ask is how many don't hate them, and if you were to ask that it would round to a very nice number that is called ZERO!

Really. Guess you count whoever wins the divison as the winner than, cause in recent years the BoSox havwe won the season series, and I guess you forgot about the epic 04 ALCS, in which the Sox came back from a 3-0 hole to win the series. The Sox may have lost the 2003 alcs, but that was pretty epic to.

If you can boast that people in your town are MURDERED for liking the wrong team come game time, you can boast of a bigger rivalry than Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Redskins.
This year:
Dallas @ Washington: 4 murders, other assorted drunk-driving deaths
Washington @ Dallas: 3 murders, several large-scale brawls, even a small riot
The only rivalry in football that has a higher death-per-game ratio is Baltimore vs. Washington, but that's because they are both close and two of the most violent big cities in the country, 8 reported murders, proably three times that were never found

man city v man united. hatred runs through the blood it kicks off in manchester city centre every single weekend. one part off the city centre mainly city another part mainly united pubs. when they meet it kicks off.

sometimes my mate says when there are no united fans around. the south of manchester city fans will fight with the north of manchester and salford fans. this is very much crazy.

Youre right, the Bears vs. packers is the best rivalry. But:

1) who just made the superbowl? (the AFC is cheap because thats where all the good QBs are)
2) The 1985 Bears are the favorited Superbowl team ever http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=3051
3) The Bears have the most retired jerseys in the NFL, 13. Out of all sports they have the 3rd most retired jersey behind the Yankees (15) and the Celtics (21)
4) The Bears are going to take the NFC North Title for the 3rd year in a row. (who is there to stop them? The Vikings? Naw. The Lions? Naw. The Packers arent even a threat.)
5) Their Defence is amazing.
6) John Madden loves the Bears and the city of Chicago.
7) The Packers are goign to suck even more once Farve is gone.
8) Rex Grossman will be developed into a better QB this offseason. (remember Farve 15 seasons ago? He sucked. Therefore its not impossible for Rex to get better[he cant get much worse])
9) The Bears have the best spical teams in the NFL. They have Devine Hester and Robbie Gould.
10) There D line owns. Next year it will be even better with Tommy Harris back.

#2 is hogwash! Best superbowl team ever was the 1972 Dolphins, the only undefeated team. Just ask NFL Network, the '85 Bears came second.

a response to that, by talking about the Hawks and Steelers

1) the hawks were there last year
2) the 2005 Seahawks were #50 in the 80 Super bowl Teams by ESPN. they woulda been higher than the Steelers, but the Steelers won, ethics aside
3) The Hawks actually bring there jerseys outta retirement, if Jerry Rice wants them
4) who's gonna stop the Hawks from winning the NFC West for the 4th year in a row? and, we've only been in the NFC West since 2002 (not counting the 70's)
5) our Offense is amazing
6) John Madden hates Seattle and all that inhabit it (but he's a fat retard, so i don't listen to him, but i DO play his video games)
7) the Steelers will always suck
8) Rex Grossman Sucks and always will
9) the hawks have the best WRs in the league (D-Jack, Branch, Burleson, D-Hack) and we have Shauny....so we have the best offense, when they are healthy
10) our D-line is getting better, as is our O-Line

PROOF the hawks own

Pretty much every British Football team has had deaths when certain firms come to town. It used to be pretty grim, but its getting much better now.

You know the deaths that happen due to sports is just another way of saying that we are heading back to the days of the Roman Empire, only it is bleeding into the stands now.

You may not like what I say but I think that if two players have to fight, then let them do so, mostly if it is in a rival match or playoff match where the pressure of a game sets someone off, some of it is due to the fact that one of there team members was hurt or something like that, as long as it stays under control, does not head into the stands and does not waste the whole time of the game I am ok with it.

Really I don't want to see a fight break out on or off the field or rink at all, it is just sometimes you need to let a little steam off.
