Longest Game Ever
Was just wondering what people's longest game has been. I'm playing one now thats on round 112 and doesn't look like it'll end anytime soon.
anyone had one longer? what's the record I wonder? can you imagine how long that would take in real-life risk?

How hard is it to do?
It took about 3 seconds, here is the link: Game 207959

Re: Longest Game Ever
At least you brought a decently long game to show us*. Most others only get to about 50 rounds before they think they might have something close to the longest game ever.
* I guess you didn't actually show us, but you know what I mean.

Re: Longest Game Ever
I don't think I've had a game reach 1000 rounds yet, but I'm working on it. There have been a few with 500 or 600 rounds, though.

Re: Longest Game Ever
I've only got one ongoing game that's past 500 rounds. It's my own fault for playing a flat rate game.

Re: Longest Game Ever
I have about 10 games in the stage I like to think of as 'relaxed builds'. My mind kinds of flits between total despair (as I really do prefer an open game) and a kind of drugged-up contentment..."Yeah man, its like a glacial game of Risk. Things are happening you know, but, like...slowly."
While I am not playing in 'the longest game ever' I am becoming something of an expert at long games. I felt terribly proud yesterday, because I finally managed to secure my first bonus in this 8 man no cards on round 143. Patience is indeed a virtue..if you play high level no cards singles.
Game 3423480
Much as I love 2.1, I think it is a terrible map if it has some v.skilled standard players on it. I have to admit it just locks around round 60. But those 60 rounds are great fun, so I'm pretty much taking the view that once it locks completely the game is done, the empires have been built, the UN has been formed (after a messy league of nations attempt around round 35) and the empires are just sitting around waiting for a Star Trek-like space age. It keep me sane anyway!
Are these games a complete waste of time? Probably. But am I prepared to throw them to someone else? Absolutely not! Luckily I still have the trips, 8 man dubs and speed games to keep the blood pumping a little...

Changsha, that game could be over very soon.

Funnily enough I came into the forums looking for what the longest game is thats running.
I believe I have a contender. We started 15th Feb, so close to 6 months.
Game 4264580
Edit: Just realised the game you posted started erm, 30 months ago.
Now thats just crazy.
Re: Longest Game Ever
Crazy indeed. Women have been romanced, children conceived and born over the course of that game. I hear there are even legal documents waiting for an official notory seal to guarrantee the family inheritence of the remaining postitions. Even virtual war is hell.

Was the classic map changed to classic shapes during this game? How did that work?

Blame Hasbro. Apparently they own the copyrights to earth.

Re: Longest Game Ever
I get the reason for the map change, i'd just never thought about games currently in play. That would have been a shock.

Re: Longest Game Ever
I'm in a game that's been going on since March of last year, but I'm pretty sure that's not even close to the top 10/15/20/50.

I've got 2 build games going that are going to make it to at least 2000.
