Free Wii

Postby Strictly_Mad on Tue Feb 06, 2007 12:11 pm

My friend told me of a way to get a free Wii. I did not believe him at first but then he showed me a video from Newsnight on BBC and it explained how companies are able to do this. Pretty convincing stuff!

All I have to do is sign up to a free trial with a reputable company through my friends referral link and then get 8 more people to do the same by following my link. Then before the free trial runs out cancel my subscription.

I am wondering if anyone else out the has come across this?

Or if you feel like finding out (like me) if this works go to this link;

http://Wii.Giveaway.co.uk/index.php?referral=407115 and sign up.

I chose the lovefilm one as it is completely free and will cancel my subscription after the 14 days.

Let me know what you think.

Sounds like a pyramid scheme.

I am sure it is legit, but with these type of things the eight "referrals" that you need are probably pretty hefty...like "Buy a car from Auto.com!" or "Sign up for DirecTV (3 year contract needed)", etc.

It is like a pyramid scheme but it is not. Also I have done some more research on this and if you go to http://www.grab4free.com and watch the clip there from the BBC programme Newsnight it explains how it is done. The people in the clip say that advertisement is so bad now, they cannot even give away stuff without people suspecting something. As for Backglass' comment - There promotions you have to sign up to are all free trials which you can cancel at any stage. Watch the link and tell me what you think. Thank you.

still, I don't feel like asking people I know to sign up for stuff so I can get a Wii, and people I don't know probably won't.

If you honestly believe that having eight friends sign up for "free trials" will get you a free Wii...your nuts! I have a sneaky suspicion those "free trials" require a credit card...they aren't magazine subscriptions...correct?

Anyway...please let us know when YOURS arrives and prove us all wrong!

These kind of things are usually legit, and don't require large contributions like backglass is suggesting. The way I've always seen it, you may only need to get 8 referrals, but you need each of your referrals to do the same before you will get your prize. I've heard of many people accomplishing that and getting what was promised (iPod most times) but its not as easy as you'd think.

yeah, i would, but its so hard to convince 8 friends that this is legit, and they will want to try and get 8 too, etc. maybe we should do this as a whole cc familty and make whoever does this go bankrupt? :)

We are talking about involving 64 people here to get 1 Wii. If you have 64 people at your command, start a company and buy Wii of your 1st salary 8)

Well if it does work out I'll let you guys know! If you look on e-bay there are loads of these referral things. My friend has six so far so it looks like he'll get there before me. It is all legit but it is clever as it turns you into a salesman for them for the price of a Wii/PS3/iMac, etc.
