Seeing as how long people have been begging for this, I don't think it's going anywhere.

At first, my thoughts were "what does it matter, except in team games?". The difference between playing a group of friends who happen to join at the same time and reserving a few spots for friends did not seem that great, (except in teams). However, it sounds like it makes a big difference to ahole.
One problem I can see is that if certain spots are reserved, then there is much more potential for farming and multi abuse. In a normal game, people can tell others and then wait for them to join, but its still "first come/first served". Here, you can join a game started by a private, not know that they have invited several sergeants.
For newer people or people who don't play regularly, it might be nice to know in advance if you are playing a group of friends or just a group.

We're not missing it. We just don't see it as as much of a problem as you do.
As long as there are still spots open to everyone, it's still a public game, in my mind.

How can you say tou're not missing it ? What you mean to say is, "Iknow it's not in my definition of what's considered public but I don't care"
