Perhaps a bit of a blond moment but...
Specifics:
You can set a time limit to ban yourself from X type of games. Say 1 vs 1
This can also be used for tournaments, and other events such as speed games
Or just practice the self discipline to stay off the "Game finder" page with those characteristics? In short... don't click "Join Game".
This will improve the following aspects of the site:
It will make CC more enjoyable for many who go through bad dice. 1 vs 1 can really make you angry at times with the dice.
So don't join a 1 vs 1 game.
Speed games can keep you up late
So don't join a speed game if you feel you will be rushed.
Tournament games can be time consuming.
When was the last time you found yourself stuck in a tournament game thinking: "Darn... I knew it had to happen sooner or later, these tournament directors are out to get us, I remember when you had to sign up to be in a tournament, now they just pluck us out of nowhere and stick us in here."
In short... this aches of the concept of "Don't forget to remember ....." Instead of needing to ban yourself from a certain type... just practice some discipline. Or, if you find yourself too tempted to the speed games, the tournament games, the pure high of 1 vs 1 competition... then just indulge yourself?
Do you need the site to provide an option for you to remove choice from... yourself?
This is a concept of engineering a solution where there is no problem. The nature of the beast is to be driven to certain maps, certain game types, etc... the downside to each, whether it be horrible dice in 1-1... horrible bogging tourney games or ridiculously unhealthy nights will serve to deter you themselves. If you haven't felt the pain of bad dice in 1 vs 1s.... if you haven't had a bad tournament game, if you haven't had trouble controlling your speed game addictions... then maybe, just maybe, you can enjoy it?
I do feel stupid typing this out because I feel this may be a joke of a post but I owe the respect of explanation to anyone whom I interact with. This idea of: "I would like to not partake in certain games, so help me out of this addiction by giving me a choice to remove my choice to join these games" is rather ridiculous and I pray it's a joke... or that I've misunderstood your post.
One speed game too many tonight?
