Is it a fungus (technically not a plant)?

Honestly, I am really stumped right now. I study biology so I know the different kingdoms of living things and since you ruled out Animalia and Plantae, that leaves only Monera (which is bacteria), Protista (mainly algae), and Fungi (what I guessed above). For some reason, I find it hard to believe that you would pick something from Monera or Protista (unless it is a bacterial disease :-s ) simply because they are often grouped with animalia or plantae.

Living things are divided into three groups based on their genetic similarity. The three groups are:

* Archaea: very ancient prokaryotic microbes.
* Eubacteria: More advanced prokaryotic microbes.
* Eukaryota: All life forms with eukaryotic cells including plants and animals

* Kingdom Protista – Organisms with just one eukaryotic cell
* Kingdom Fungi – Including mushrooms and other fungus
* Kingdom Plantae – Including trees, grass and flowers

im sorry i should of elaberated a bit more, by animals i meant anything you would see in zoos, or anything you could keep as a pet. along the lines of cats, dogs, monkeys, rhinos, penquins...
