Suggestion: Platimum Cross-Map Award

Postby Teflon Kris on Sat May 09, 2009 5:22 am

Concise description:
A special award for achieving 5 unique defeats accross, say, 100 (or 120) maps.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
Encouraging players with Gold X-Map already to continue exploring new maps (rather than focussing on their favorites for points-only purposes).

The number of maps is constantly changing.. and you don't want to have to add and remove the award every time a new map comes out

What if the map madal was changed to work with a % of maps with unique defeats rather than a set number? So if you wanted to maintain your map medal you had to try new maps as they came out? (probably a suggestion for another thread)

In terms of platinum I don't see why we can't have them for all medals, but only if they were at a very very large number. So that they were not an easy jump from gold to platinum.
What do you know about map making, bitch?

This idea (in my opinion) is better than kyles, but still has the problem that medals could need to be taken away.

In terms of cross maps it encourages me people to play more maps (and to continue to try new maps). So in this case I think that taking away of this paticular medal may not be a bad thing.

It has been suggested in another thread that 130 maps with 10 unique kills would be the standard for platinum.

I think there should be a platinum medal for all of the settings by just adding an additional tier.
