but, the issue is that lines like A and B have LONG lines of stations that don't cross other lines....taking em off wouldn't do....but keeping them is troublesome too....i would keep em and add 1 or 2 armies more to their bonus. but that's just me. oh and keep line 12..
and about size....cant this be made the size of world 2.1? it has way more than this number of terrs....

Hey, I'm glad a DF transit rider has found this thread!

Lines A, B & 8 (and even 12) do cause problems with their long "tails". I had acutally reduced their bonuses because of this (thinking that if you're holding a "continent" like Line A & only having to defend one territory to keep it, you're already getting an extra 3 armies bonus just for holding the 10 territories on the line). Does this logic make sense?

And yes, Linea 12 actually helps a lot, otherwise there would be "tails" on Lines 7, 3 and 2, and 8's "tail" would be worse.

As for the size, I think World 2.1 was done before the size constraints were set, and I'm guessing that many mapmakers have made appeals to do bigger small maps, without any luck. I'm thinking two different things to deal with size: either make the small map crowded and make it look like a "pocket map," and give the larger map a bit of a different look as a more full-sized metro map; or, do a map that cuts out some of the extremities. I'm leaning towards the latter at the moment, as it opens up possiblities to make other metro maps that otherwise would never fit the CC map constraints.

Regardless, I'd love your input on things as they progress, hereje888!

Cheers,
LC

i like the idea for this map alot...Mexico City Metro, its perfect...but your map doesn't seem to represent the Mexico's city metro at all...it needs alot more color and a lot less words...more spread out and maybe even the mexican flag in the background with the bird and the snake...this has a lot of potentional

Sadly, the size restrictions are in place for the foreseeable future, so whichever route you take you'll need to fit within the limits.

Maybe instead of the long tails at the end of lines, or even the long strings between crossover stations, you can make a single station with a significant neutral start (depending on how many stations it replaces, maybe +1 or +2 per station replaced) that will need to be conquered in order to hold the line. Pick the most popular station on the tail - for Linea 3, I would think Universidad, yes? The line exists mostly to get people to the university? So link Zapata to a Neutral start 5-10 Universidad (or the name of the University), and have a little drawing of a recognizable campus building.

It may not be an accurate representation of every stop, but would add interest to the map and tell me something about what I can see in Mexico City just by riding the trains.

[Moved]

It would appear that development of this map has stalled. If the mapmaker wants to continue with the map, then one of the Foundry Moderators will be able to help put the thread back into the Foundry system, after an update has been made. ;-)
