automatic thread lock

Postby redhawk92 on Wed Apr 29, 2009 7:43 pm

i am so tired of players making suggestions like

1. let fremiums have more games
2. let me buy a partial premium
3. someone buy me premium
4. i cant afford 25 dollars make it cheaper
5. the dice are not random
6. i am the unluckiest person

there are others too but these are the main ones

i suggest that any threads that say any of the above be automatically locked

this would improve the site by there being less mess in the forums and would make it easier on the mods

i also suggest that players who continue to do this be given forum bans

While I agree with the sentiment, I don't think the suggestion would accomplish anything.

1) Picking specific thread titles to lock, would be impractical, as there's no way to know exactly what people are going to title their threads. Besides, aren't threads like those always misspelled anyway?

2) Even if filtering by the title worked, wouldn't it make more sense to just not let the threads get created in the first place, rather than lock them immediately after creation?

I would agree that locking them faster is a good idea. Unless you can figure a way to get people to look for previous suggestions, then people will continue to suggest those things.

Just deleting all that clutter would be even nicer.
