Really? I guess I missed the part where it was in the same spot with the same topics in there as well as the same moderators.

The answer to your question is, of course, because they have very little self-control.

Please don't bring it back. and please ban those that have a temper tantrum and consistently flame in other forums.

You know, I like the odd sarcastic come back, or humorous put down, but the scatological and sexually abusive flame has no place on a site that has children playing the games. Grow up, expand you vocabulary, use puns, analogy, sarcasm, satire, wit, and all the other wonderful tools of language to get your point across.

If this site was any bigger (with a few more Rons and Artimis' we'd have a full scale cyber-riot going on just about now. They got rid of it while they could :)

I'm guessing all logs of that forum have been deleted from the server because TheProwler's profile states :
Most active forum:
Suggestions & Bug Reports

It's interesting though, because his post count is still +6000 but when you view posts by TheProwler you find 643 matches :|

When you view posts it only counts the ones you can see, so hidden forums don't count toward such things. And, as his post count remains the same, it means that Flame Wars does still exist, it's just sitting there, hiding. Even if it had been deleted, lack could always go into a backup and pull it out again. I don't know why they don't put it back... It takes all of five seconds to do.

Because there is no reason to put it back.

I strongly suspect that "time" isn't the reason they haven't put it back yet.

This is more interesting than I thought. It's pretty funny watching all of the dedicated "flamers" running around screaming about their lost paradise.

On the other hand, taking away off topics = big mistake for the mods, if anyone remembers that.

Anyway, back on topic. Yes, FW can be kind of annoying and it's not as great as it used to be, but that doesn't mean it can't get better. Plus nobody is forcing you to go into FWs anyway, at least leave it still viewable because there is a lot of history in there.

Amazing, absolutely amazing, the needle on my irony gauge just flipped out and buried itself into the red! Please post more both of you, I must gather more data on this new high intensity irony concentration phenomenon emanating from this thread. :geek:

That's something I agree with, we've got a few ideas on what to do about this situation, but we really need to know what the admins are up to. Thing is it seems not even admins know what the admins are up to, so we're going to have to wait for some kind of announcement first before we select an option and run with it.

According to James Vazquez, Hysari is due to make an 'official annoucement.' Looks like he's just s bit slow off the mark.

I think it's funny to watch all the people run around talking about how funny/inept/stupid all the FW regulars are. Just let them have their playground back.

Could one of the flame wars regulars fill out the sugs and bugs form correctly? I am rather interested in seeing as to the "how it will improve the site" part of it. I am sure there are many positives of letting people say "f***" every other word without getting banned, I just can't think of any myself.

That is a very limited and stereotypical view of what flaming is T.N.P. and frankly I'm disappointed with you for saying that. I'll assume you didn't read many posts in Flame Wars, because you would have come out with a statement like that if you had by chance read some of the gems posted in Flame Wars. The well thought out rib ticklers that had REAL impact and not just the "you're gay and you know you are" generic tard-shittery! It's a place to bag opponents that piss you off, or team mates that just take the piss. It served for disparaging a variety of other CC related muppets also, something that you just can't do in the other forums. You could speak your mind and then reap the whirlwind when you received that rare gift in Flame Wars, a worthy reply.

then make a clan where you can do the same thing. Simple solution that satisfies both sides.

What about all the threads in FWs? We just never see them again? Some of the stuff was hilarious and influenced the site.

What I propose is to have FWs come back, but just lock it, so we can view it but not post in it. Agree/Disagree?

Totally agree - i had this idea myself actually. However, an even better idea would be to create a clan called flame wars and put it all there. People can join to read/contribute. Or just donate it to teh flame whores.

Is that why nobody who wants it back can fill out the form properly? All that wit just getting in the way of it, I suppose?

These ideas have already been mooted in Flame Whores, I'm still waiting for an official announcement on the fate of the Flame Wars forum and by that I don't mean the second paragraph of that ridiculous April Fools joke: Welcome to Cutesy Club!

I mean that the admins should properly announce the intention to dispose of Flame Wars for good. Not just see if anyone noticed the absence of Flame Wars after 'forgetting' to reinstate it when the April Fools joke ran it's course.
