running out of time before deploying - what happens ?

Postby speckknoedelsup on Mon Jan 15, 2007 8:10 pm

hi

what happens if a player starts his turn cashes in a set but does not deploy any units (exept of those units which are automatically deployed due to owning lands of the set cashed in), and runs out of time then .

what happens to his units for next turn , does he get the units of his set next turn, and does he get a unit multiplier like missing a turn.

i checked out the faq and instructino carfully and i read the HOLDING thread in ANNOUNCEMENT but nothing of that answers my question.

i'd need answer in the next 23 hours if possible :)))

thx for any response

i think he loses them...i know that if he runs out of time, he loses the troops, so wouldn't he lose the troops from the cards to?

You don't get any of the armies that weren't deployed if you don't finish your turn.

And they aren't doubled the next time, since you did miss a turn (to have undeployed armies you had to begin your go).

But what happens if you have 7 cards and run out of time before you turn them in? Do you get to start with 7 on your next turn?

Hmm... I have never bothered to watch whether the timer keeps running when you eliminate someone and have to turn in cards.

The best way is to try it. Want to do another experiment?

You can't have seven cards.

You can have up to 9 cards. Why not 7?

Think about it, you start your turn with 4 cards, you eliminate someone with 5 cards, and then you let the time run out before you cash in. Do you keep the 9 cards or do you lose some?

Here is the answer...

http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=177132#gmtop

Jay had 4 cards, he eliminated me gaining 5 more and didnt end his turn.
He ran out of time and still had 9 cards to cash in on the next turn.

Wow, so that means it would be possible to start a turn with 21 cards and cash 7 sets at once. I can't see it EVER happening unless it is set up but it would be amazing. And if that person didn't cash someone could finish the game holding 25 cards! Incredible!

hmm is that cheating ??

Postby speckknoedelsup on Tue Jan 16, 2007 1:04 pm

well is that actually cheating ?? and/or will that be fixed with next update.
i think this could be a great tactical option sometimes especially in esc card games, but i also think it is a bit unfair ....

besides this i have to say: i'm kind of new to this game and i want to thank all the people who make this site possible , so THX very much to the people that are in charge and to the active community here .

i'd have bought prem membership already if i just had a credit card ( i am not able to load paypal without credit card [ maybe it is a temporary problem of paypal ] ) , ....

i'd love to pay that 20 bugs a year, and i hope there will be added more possibilitys to pay in future ( paysafe card, money bookers would work for me)

thx thx thx to all the people working for this site + community , and thx again .

last i have to say THANK YOU , yes i mean YOU

It wouldn't actually be possible to have more than 9, since after eliminating 1 person, you would be forced to cash before doing any more attacking.

Choosing not to cash might actually come in handy when you eliminate someone early in an escalating game and don't want to cash right away since it won't get you many reinforcements.

It will be possible: if you holding 9 cards, waiting to cash in, and you got eliminated by someone holding 4 cards, and so on and so forth, up to 21 cards, before last person elimination.
