What's best to do.

Hi everybody got myself a bit of a problem. My son joined CC about a week ago and has a few games ongoing including a doubles game with me as his partner. He's just informed me he has lost his internet connection (personel reasons, I think finacial. He is going to have to deadbeat on his games. What is my best course of action. Should I tell our opponents in our doubles game that he will not be playing. I have a good reputation and don't want people to think I am cheating. also would it be politic to inform the players in his other games that he will be deadbeating. Any advice would be most welcome.

It is okay for people to take another players turns if they will be away as long as they are not opponents in any games.

People use that fairly often if they are going to go on vacation and still have some games running. In this case it would be fine for you to take his turns until all his games are finished. Then just abandon the account and you won't have caused any deadbeat problems. You also might want to announce what is happening in the game chat for each game.

cheers Sully. Will I need to inform any of the mods that that is what I will be doing. I don't really like the idea of playing as two people from the same ip address. And would it be better to play than to let him deadbeat.

Personaly I would rather not play them but I don't want to gain any advantage in our doubles game when he gets booted, by receiving his armies. I think I would rather concede the game and let the opposition win.

You wouldn't need to inform any mods about it but I suppose you could if you were very worried. Assuming you aren't in a game that drags on for months you would only be taking his turns for a short while and it wouldn't cause any problems. But if you would prefer to not take his turns and deadbeat that would be fine too. No one should be mad at your son if he must deadbeat because he doesn't have internet anymore. It would delay them 3 days but in the long run that is no problem. In either case follow your initial idea of posting an explanation of what happened in the game chat and no one should have a problem :)
