I DON'T CARE who won what, who's winning what, or which team has the biggest average penis size.

Those posts are really annoying.

Why doesn't Lack just make a new forum, or sub-forum for sports? Maybe he could make one for Debate as well. I know some people are sick of that too.

Sorry, just can't help myself. My Tigers just freakin' DESTROYED Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl. Brady WHO? Jamarcus!!!

LSU's playing as great of football as any team right now, including Ohio State. That would have been an interesting game . . . Too bad there are no playoffs.

It's pretty lame that you had to start a thread trying to stop sports posts.....even though you can clearly see by the topic that it's a sports thread and could have just as easily skipped reading that thread.

so by your argument we should also allow spam and advertisment posts that are obvious from the title.

Also, as stated above, not all the posts are obvious.

No see, this was posted in the mess hall......which is for ANY TOPIC.....not spam. The only way you can spam a thread is going off topic within the thread. If they posted sports in a thread you posted about hating people that are lame.....then I could see that as spam.......you just posted a topic that said stop posting about sports. If you don't want to read about sports, then don't.....skip it. You are in control of your browser.

One is not in control of what other people name their threads, though. And it is NOT always evident if it's about that american han... erm "foot"ball (or any sport for that matter) or whether it's about something completely different, like the mating habits of sea lions off the Canadian coast.

oh c'mon, use some common sense. the first post in the thread should clue you in to the topic of the thread.

I'm almost tempted to start a load of (maybe 30) topics, discussing far off literature nobody's ever heard of, with interesting sounding topic titles, but I already come off as a pretentious git, so I won't do that.

...Or even posting about a load of bowls results, or football (irish style). What would make your threads any more valid than mine? The fact that there's more than one person interested in them doesn't seem a very good reason, given I'm sure I could find one person who would post on my topics.

I'd like people use a little responsibility when posting about sports, instead of posting results every time a major game comes up, most of which start off saying little more than the typical sports post I started this wonderful thread with.

This is a public forum, and no I can't force you to not post anything, (within the very broad guidelines), but I can ask you to, which is really what this thread is about. Sports posts seemed to be increasing rapidly, and I was just saying I (and some others) find them annoying.

BTW

the eagles have the largest average penis size in all professional sports.

Having seen all but one of the eagle's penises, I must say I'm impressed by the final guy, 27 inches is some feat...

why don't you start threads about literature? i mean, more people read than watch football. or fix this "problem" and suggest a sports forum..... these are just suggestions Qeee. i have tons of respect for you and what you've done for this community

I felt if I created a sports sub forum, I'd be promoting the importance placed on sports, which I'm against, but I'm not trying to argue in this particular thread, so that solution wouldn't be agreeable for me. As for literature, I may do that, in fact I probably will, but that wasn't really the point of my post either...
