Japan map potential compeition

Postby captainwalrus on Wed Dec 17, 2008 3:32 pm

I like the Idea of the japan map and I like the one that is in the drafts right now but I also made a japan map prior to the draft being put up and I think that it is better.

I propose that there should be a compitition in which anyone can enter a map and then it will be voted upon. Here are the three main ones that have been made so far.

In addition, there are several Japan maps that were abandoned.

For this "competition", would it be required that I use the programs suggested in the sticky? Or could I just have you post a scan of one I've created in real life? I apologize for how stupid this may sound, I'm just trying to get my facts straight on how it is I should propose my ideas.

The maps of Japan that you left out were ten times better than these, in my opinion. Why don't you play fair and put everything in the poll, not just a few of the maps?

Personally, I like my map. While I think that similarity between bonus regions can hardly be avoided, I think the city gameplay differs which is the ultimate issue at hand. I'll be happy to suspend progress on my map and put it to a vote. Who wants to organize it?

I also think that modern Japan deserves to be considered separate from feudal Japan.

Well, First off I had had trouble putting them in to the post for some reason.
Secondly, I assumed that the map makers would just post thiers in here because I didn't want to volenteer them to work on a map that they might have stoped for a reason. LAstly they are better than the ones I put up because they have already been through the forum and have been changed to be better.

I will do this for you then. Will edit the post in one minute.

There is no rule that says the original map maker needs to finish the map. They can always let someone else work on it.

Which is why they should be in the competition.

For the record, Oaktown discontinued that map and used the design on his Indian Empire one. Those are some good ones, though.

How do you put them on here? I can't figure out how to when it is just an image and not a url.

I think it is unlikely that there will be an official Foundry competition for a map of Japan.
