Stop the sports posts!

Postby qeee1 on Mon Jan 01, 2007 11:02 pm

Example of typical sports post:

My sports team or event is better than your sports team or event as evidenced by recent events as documented by the chief sporting body of the sport of which I am speaking.

I DON'T CARE who won what, who's winning what, or which team has the biggest average penis size.

Those posts are really annoying.

They're like half the freaking topics in the forum. Plus I click into expecting a nice post on seehawks or bears or some other wildlife thingy and then BAM! Professional Sports.

ARGH!
sports are awesome.

No they're not.

you got a problem with that?

No, I have no problem with sports themselves, I have a problem with the emphasis placed on sports. Read longest thread, somewhere between page 200 and 500, where I detail my position and reasons.

All you gotta do is conquer the world and ban professional sports and that will be that.

Of course, you'll make plenty of enemies in the process, but if you can enslave them for the gladiatorial games to be performed for your entertainment, so much the better!

first of all, sports ARE awesome, and yes, you do have a problem. maybe, put a suggestion for a sports forum then. and i would rather not read the entire length of the longest thread thread to hear one person's position on a non-political issue.

Well, there are a lot of people here who love professional sports and want to talk about it. Let them. It's fine. Not everyone likes it, and likewise, not everybody should post to these conversations.

I've never been a fan myself, but who am I to tell others what not to like?

Sure, who are you to tell people? BUT this is me we're talking about, qeeefucking1.

Also if I expected people to listen to me, I wouldn't tell them what to do.

Question though, why are sports awesome?

because they are, like risk, a supremacy battle, without real massive bloodshed. the romans loved their gladiators as they fought for supremacy and were entertaining. sports connect the world and allow us to take a break from dropping bombs and play a game of football (european or american)

I'll go into uber rant mode again tommorow, for now, goodnight.

This first post was mostly made in jest. Think what am I actually poking fun at?

By that logic talk about how much you dislike sports posts is equally warrented.

At least put [sport] or something in the topic then so innocent wanderers of the forums don't inadvertently stumble into them and get a shock for life.
