XML HELP.

Pretty graphics are not enough to make a successful map. You also need to think up good gameplay rules and write them down in an XML file. This tutorial will explain how to do that. Don't worry, you don't need any technical skills or special software. Just pay attention and fire up your favourite text editor, such as notepad.

I read very carefyl,and i need to know next step-how to notepad upload to be XML link for map.
I create acount in Fileden site,and now i dont know how,and what i need to do,to notepad become transform to XML link, can someon explane to me step by step.

Once you have finished you XML save your file with the file extension '.xml' (for example 'portugalmap.xml') that means that the file will be an XML file rather than a notepad file.

Once you have done that you should then upload in onto fileden using it's upload function. Once it is uploaded the site should then give you a URL for that file you have uploaded.

Hmm,im stupid.

Gilligan tell me to use Microsoft word,but when i save these file,they have 20 options and i dont know what is what.
I use two option who contain xml in hes names,but when i try to upload into Fileden,they say that can not upload.

don't save as '.xml' just .xml

In this case - Word adds in a load of useless shit at the top of the file - that makes it nonXML/HTML...

I just use TextEdit for my XML. Honestly, after it's been generated by WM's spreadsheet and had coordinates done by Jota's tool, there's nothing left to do but tweak coordinates, and that's easy enough to do in TextEdit.

I'm a Mac user, so I was brought up to mistrust all things Microsoft. I use TextWrangler.

In this case - Word adds in a load of useless shit at the top of the file - that makes it nonXML/HTML...

It sucks.

I didn't say use Word to generate the XML, he couldn't save it in Notepad so I just told him to save it in Word, not actually generate it.
