casual games get auto-dropped

Postby Jeff Hardy on Wed Nov 19, 2008 2:11 pm

Concise description:
  • casual games get auto-dropped

Specifics:
  • speed game get auto-dropped if a player doesnt click on anything on cc for 5 minutes. i was thinking maybe if someone doesnt sign in to their account for a certain amount of time (like 5 days or something) their casual games they are waiting for players in get dropped

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • if someone doesnt have access to a computer for a long amount of time (maybe they have to go to hospital or something) then they dont lose all their points
  • if a new recruit joins a game then leaves the site, he wont lose points (=no one gains them)

I think 5 days is too short. I have had games I definitely wanted to play pend for much longer. I can see this, but a limit of 2 weeks would be more appropriate.

It's not if the game doesn't start within 5 days, only if someone doesn't sign in to their account for five days.

On the premise that somebody could deadbeat in 3 days, it does seem a sensible limit...

Three days does seem much more sensible

And about the Poll, They like to see discussion, not just Yes/No Votes

i cant see any negative aspects to this idea so i cant see why anyone should vote "no"
a lot of people wont be effected by this (me included because i almost only play speed games) but it cant hurt anyone

I dunno, I can't see anything negative about this particular suggestion. Everyone gets protected.

In that case, 5 days .. or, as was suggested 3, might be appropriate.

did you read any of this thread, the auto drop would only happen if someone doesn't sign into their account, not if the game doesn't fill.
