It's checked every wednesday evening I think, so just ensure you're logging in from an Irish I.P. not using a proxy server or anything like that next wednesday and you'll be from Ireland again.

Think that's the only way, as I don't think a manual override option has been implemented yet.

Hah, sorry, I just say your location and assumed.

If you're playing in Ireland you'll be marked Irish unfortunately.

Ok, another question, if it's not too much trouble.

I have three games on the go, but i've made no turn move.....how many games at once is advisable for a noob ?

](*,)

FOUND IT ..FOUND IT :D

It's a bit like being a non-sub at RHP, you fill up your slots, then you're pretty screwed.

Is there some way of working out whether the games will go fast or not (like a 1/na, or something) ?

i wrote a bit on rhp about that :D

in freestyle games everyone gets 1 day to make their move, so you'll have 1 move per day whatever your opponents do but with the sequential games everyone has their own day to make their move, you could be waiting 5 days just for one turn :( new players are a bitch for signing up to games and then abandoning them, they get kicked out after missing 3 turns.

one thing.. as a new player.. i resent you saying that we are a bitch for abandoning our games.. i've been a member for about a day now and am already playing the max of 4 games and have no intention of abandonning any of them. but if i could do it all again i think i would have chosen to do my games all freestyle.. this waiting for 5 days thing kinda sucks.. and yes.. it is newbies that are not showing up for their turns.. but still, not all newbies are bitches like that

well... new players in general are. But the exceptions to the rule are always highly welcome!

Lack posted a recent breadown somewhere, there were 23000 new recruits. An educated guess would be that 98.3% of those never took a single turn.

maybe there should be a 'top tip', or something like that, on the game finder page telling newbies to join games that are only waiting for one or two more players, or telling them that they can withdraw from games that are taking too long to start.

i'm sure a lot of the deadbeats are people who signed up to the first four games they found and then just got bored waiting for those games to start.

Well to be fair, i'm on day two and the only thing i've done is talk in this forum, i haven't even had a sniff of a move in any of my four games.

I can see how someone looking for a game could get easily pissed off waiting, luckily i am also a member of two chess sites and a PBE strategy game so i am not in any real hurry. Some instruction for noobies about how to get in faster games might help, i know fast isnt the point of the site, but it would make it easier for people to gain an interest.

MeDeFe said it all, the fast majority of newbies are deadbeat bitches, play a game with 5 newbies and see how many deadbeat, at least 3 of them will. it sucks.

Ok, help me out here

In this game - Game 150393

Spencerman just attacked his own team mate, is that normal, or has he just shot himself in the foot ? If i'm not supposed to comment on games in progress i appologise, but i saw others do it in other threads.

In that particular game it's a stupid noobish mistake, as green nearly had the continent. Red probably doesn't even know he has a team mate.
Taking an enemy on the battlefield is like a hawk taking a bird. Though it enters into the midst of a thousand of them, it pays no attention to any bird other than the one it has first marked.
