How to explain a team game to a new player?

Postby kishih on Mon Dec 11, 2006 6:19 am

I signed up to a 4 man double game today as the first player in team 2. Not long after me a new player joins and has the first turn (sequential). In this turn he takes 2 of my territories and 1 from the other team. Fron the initial 33 armies he started with, he now has 23 left, while my 30 are down to 26. Team 1 won't have much trouble winning when someone does this in the first turn.
So I sent my partner a PM explaining the idea of double games. But for this game (and another double game with someone else he already ruined) it will be too late.

So how do people handle those things?

And what is the best way to protect myself from ending up with those players?

Never be 1st player in team 2.

If everybody would do that, there would be no more team games.

Could there not be some sort of warning when a private enters a team game a pop up would show, pointing them on the fact they are in a team game and they should familiarize themselves with the rules of team games.

This is in the suggestions list (see suggestions forum) - new players will not be able to see public team games.

Ring up Lack (the guy who owns the site) and ask for the address of your doubles partner. Then run round to his house and throw bricks through his windows. When he comes outside - discuss a new doubles stratagy and blame the brick throwing on a bunch of hoodlums that you just chased down the street.
I also throw bricks through the windows of people who beat me. (so ask Lack for the address of both members of team 1)
